Fantastic job mate. I've never had an emulsion tube drop out on those newer kawasaki carbs. They are usually pigs to push down.
@RegSchmo5 ай бұрын
Nice work Mick - having had more than my fair share of carb cleaning problems I would urge anyone starting this process to clean the outer body of the carb thoroughly and lining the bench with clean towel BEFORE attempting to dismantle any carb. To do otherwise you are just inviting crud into the inside of the carb

@@themowerman Thanks Mick. Just re-did the whole thing yesterday, and two thing I can't figure out: 1) Mine runs same speed when in either high or low, doesn't make any difference at all and 2) there is a screw with a spring on top of carb that controls the position of the carb arm, I can adjust that, but set for low speed the engine cuts out. if I turn it up 1/4-1/2 turn engine runs very high and if I back it down just a bit it runs high for a minute and then backs down to coughing and finally dying. Any ideas?
@themowerman2 жыл бұрын
@@henrikstrandgaard2980 hi.. you my need to undo the cable on the engine.. set the speed to full throttle on the leaver at the top of the handle bar.. and set the throttle to full on the engine. Then do up the cable.. now try the mower again.. the screw on the carb should have around 2/3 threads showing.. hope that helps

Mick. When you took the hinge out from the float bowl did you not notice the very small spring that fits on the the pin and float. I didn't notice it on mine and I had to look at the parts drawing to see where it is located. The spring is hair like so very small and fine. Thanks for the video. I have the 14k, love it to bits.

Hi Mick I have seen other Kawasaki carbs with an emulsion tube and also a short jet that screws above the emulsion tube. Mine, I think like this one, only has the emulsion tube, but I am wondering if I am missing the jet??

Use a screwdriver in the carb and push it down.. it will come out.. use lots of wd40.. you can even use a small Alan key to help it come out too.. hope that helps mate if not come back to me .

@@leefenton9477 if you mean get the emulsion tube out yes but it was very difficult and the end was slightly damaged as a result of driving a wedge in to break it loose. I cleaned up the end and got it running ok. I am actually trying to source a new tube at the moment but it seems they are not available. I am not sure just how critical the length of the bit that sticks up into the airflow is, would like to file it down a bit to remove some marks.

@@leefenton9477 if you mean did I get the emulsion tube out, yes I did, it was difficult and I had to drive a wedge in to release it which caused some damage to the tip. Hi Mick, Robbie from Premier Lawns Belfast utube channel linked you. My question is : On a rotary mower what engine ie blade speed do you run at. Would it be in relation to the drive speed, I did a first collection cut at a lower blade speed (after 3-4 mulch cuts) and found it was very neat and even, any guidance would be appreciated.
