Mr. Mobile how is the reception? If you didn't know, the Google Tensor chip used in the Pixel 6 Pro, 6, and 6a has the 5123b modem made by Samsung. This is a problem because reports and reviews of the 6 Pro and 6 say that reception is bad with loss of signal, dropped signals, and trouble with finding networks. As this is a phone... this should be a very important topic that everyone should talking about, but almost no one is...
@jet_peach2 жыл бұрын
For sure. What happened to reviewers caring about the #1 most important thing in a phone?!? I have a pixel 6 and it's driving me nuts- maybe it's not _always_ my side (it's hard to know every time), but the percentage of times people struggle to hear me or I can't hear them during calls has rocketed up since my pixel 5

That's the most balanced review I have seen so far, even though I have decided to wait for the Pixel 7 anyway. It also comes down to what you are currently using, as to what features you cannot compromise on. For me on my Pixel 5, it is too much of a downgrade to a 6a for the features I enjoy, e.g., I cannot lose wireless charging plus I like the small form factor. And I already enjoy all the smart Google AI stuff on my current Pixel 5 like call screening. So lets see whether Pixel 7 can convince me it is a worthy upgrade.
@Cracky0032 жыл бұрын
I'm leaning 6a, as the 7 leaks don't excite me. My 3 just got it's last security patch, and only because it was a critical issue. At least the 6a is cheap and will tide me over with software for a couple more years.
@derekisthematrix2 жыл бұрын
The 6a is essentially a downgraded 5. Worse battery, no headphone jack, no wireless charging, same camera. I'd go 6 or 6pro as you can likely find a good deal out there and you get the new camera hardware. The value proposition for the 6a just isn't there.
@derekisthematrix2 жыл бұрын
@@Cracky003 the 6a isn't really much of any upgrade from the 3. I went from 3 to 6pro and if it weren't for the telephoto lens, I would have been severely disappointed. We're talking mobile devices here and since they rely on that sweet sweet battery juice, it means you can use your device for a longer period of time using the 60Hz screen refresh rate instead of 90Hz and above. Some folks simply can't tell the difference unless you burst their bubble and point it out to them (don't do this, it's a dick move), or they simply don't care. These people a quite happy, and love their devices. Generally speaking, I doubt that Google's target audience for this device is techies that would compare refresh rates between the Galaxy A53 and this phone. why anyone would buy those at all is a mystery to me, waste of money
@SeoWoojin552 жыл бұрын
@@Cenot4ph depends on how much you have really. People can buy phones at those price because they want to and they have the means to buy it. You dont have to shame them for it. We have phones being sold at different price points for different needs, budgets, and wants. End of story.

@@SeoWoojin55 mate that's your opinion, I have the means to buy expensive phones I do not because I consider it wasted money. When you grow up eventually you'll understand
@SeoWoojin552 жыл бұрын
@@Cenot4ph like I said, different people, different wants, needs, and likes. You could be a billionaire but spend only 500 on a phone or you could earn less than 30k a year but spend 1000$ on a phone. Lol, if you think youre mature and all saying that, maybe youre not that mature. You might not feel like spending that money on a phone and thats on you and I cant fault you with what you want to do but you have no business shaming people that do either. Its their money, their business. Grow up man.

I have my S22+ set at 60hz to save battery and I don't see what the problem. Plus battery issues can be dealt with just a tweaks to help with that. As long as it works; who cares. But that's just me.

I understand what you say……BUT, for the money there is better out there. The screen to me is the number one thing I look at therefore is important, and this just does not cut it compared to exactly the same price devices from competitors.

Pricing it at S$749 (USD542) in Singapore just makes the 6a not worth it at all compared to alternatives

At 400$ Apple gives a 60Hz 720p LCD and people buy it. It outsells the S22 Ultra, and Pixel 6, and most Android flagships. But yea, sure, a 1080p OLED is the biggest deal breaker. Don't you forget, people. A budget 120Hz is worthless. Most phones in that segment can't even push 90Hz even on home screen to make it feel as smooth. So it is fine to have an insanely smooth 60Hz, because the Tensor is so powerful that it pushes smooth 60 always.
@redstang702 жыл бұрын
I think for an extra $150 or so the pixel 6 is still the better way to go.

I had to RMA my Pixel 2 XL 3 times and I have never RMA a phone until this point. After that, I went back to OnePlus for the 7 Pro and loved most of my new device (besides the horrendous customer service.).

For me, the 60hz IS a deal breaker. 120hz is just a completely different experience to me. True, there are so many smart features Google packs into the Pixels that I find myself missing -- often, even. But I just can't trade those things I would wish for often for the high refresh rate screen I wish for always.

Don't do 120Hz even, just 90Hz. It's becoming common in cheaper phones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 base and Realme 8i as an example, and it still feels much nicer than a 60Hz display, and the Xiaomi has a nicer AMOLED display than the lcd of the Realme
@baoquoc3710 Жыл бұрын
if you just desperate for 120Hz display, I suggest you buy the 13 Pro Max

I have had 1 of my now 2 Pixel 6a's since August. One of the best phones I have used. I owned Samsung from the S7 through a very good A715G. I REALLY like for the form factor, clean software, excellent cameras and performance. No complaints. I picked up my 1st as a new dedicated work line. I liked it so much I traded in my A71 5G for another. All the updates to date have only improved upon my experience. I did initially have some heat issues with 1st device BUT that cleared up within the 1st month and or update. In my opinion it's the best Android experience one can get for the price.

Coming from 3A this is good enough, I've had my 6A a few days now. Sure 90Hz would be nice but I'm in the ecosystem now and enjoy that and the solid camera. Looking forward to the 7A having 90Hz lol well likely to upgrade to that if it does. The Nothing Phone does look nice but I'd need a case and then that lessens the design of it in general. Also its the right size, I just dislike bigger phones.

Many big youtubers nowdays don't put in much effort while reviewing a phone especially midrange ones, they just probably use it for a day or two and make up their mind looking at the spec sheet, and compare only the specs with alternatives, in this case comparing 6a with a53, nord, poco etc. I bet they haven't even used these alternatives. I saw many famous utubers saying 6a has glass back(it does not) and so it doesn't make sense not to have wireless charging, u can tell how much effort they r putting when they don't even have a clue about the phone.

One things nobody talk in review. It's a good phone with a big lack for dual sim phone. If you have a personnal and bussiness lines, go with an other brand, Google didn't have dual ringtone option. For me it's the reason why I will keep Samsung or Xiaomi.
