I had the iPhone 8 then use the iPhone X for a bit but ended up going back to my 8 simply because I love the classic design. For some reason I always find iPhone 8 to be more pretty than the X and I just like tochID

That comparison is stupid. The iPhone is perfectly color accurate while his Note 8 was producing wrong, neon-shifted colors (unless that was HDR content). The iPhone is reproducing the colors the way they were meant to look, if you want the Note 8 to do the same you have to set it to sRGB mode (which is in the dev options now, I believe.)

I actually prefer IPS LCD on the iPhone. OLED screens use pulse width modulation to dim the screen, which is basically turn on and off the pixel in quick succession. It's OK for manufacurers to use PWM but the problem is that the OLED screen from Samsung typically uses 240Hz as its pwm frequency. Sensitive users including myself are getting a lot trouble including headache and eye fatigue.

OMG a youtuber replied to my comment, that's the closest I've ever got to talking to one. I'd really be happy to see such a review because I'm looking forward to buying one at the end of this year. Sony is truly the last compact flagship manufacturer (except the X compact :P) on the market right now and whenever I see The other flagships advertised as "one-hand usable" I am always disappointed like the LG G6 e.g. Small hand people like me can only settle for the compact series phones or two-handed use. I am so gonna switch back to an iPhone from my current S7 edge. Seriously, f*ck that phone. I hate it. I bought it, coming from an iPhone, because everybody said that I should try Android. I did. Never again. That whole thing is so inconsistent, unreliable and already, after ONE year, super slow - even though I tried to move everything that isn't my small app selection to the SD-Card and install a faster launcher. For example that quick start feature for the camera, where you double-press the home button. That worked fine at the beginning, now it takes almost 30 seconds for the camera to launch. I don't care what people think, I'm not listening to any more pseudo advice (not talking about Michael here). Thanks for the Review, iPhone 8 Plus it is.

What's crazy is this is *exactly* the type of thing I heard from a good friend of mine who made the same leap (iPhone > S7 edge). Coming from an Android background, I was pretty floored at how viscerally she hated the Samsung experience, but it makes sense. These are very very different devices. I'm sorry your friends recommended Samsung for you, because it is infamous for it's laggy software. Still while reading your comment, I think you are making the right decision - trust is easily lost and hard to gain back. I have used the past 7 years only HTC phones and have them all still in my cupboard. They are still all as lag free as they were out of the box. Keep this in mind when you get fed up again with the limited OS and Apple tax. HTC, Motorola and OnePlus for example have a much lighter Android skin which have virtually no lag.

It wasn't actually my friends that recommended Samsung. I chose the S7 edge, because many reviews here on KZbin praised it as the best Android Smartphone at that time, appareantly, especially for iPhone users. I have thought about the OnePlus 5 briefly but I'm afraid of having similar issues.

DD_xShadow funny thing is... My audio technicas sound better through the dongle apple provides than they do through my pixels 3.5 jack and the one I had on my Note 8. The external speakers are leagues better than anything I’ve ever heard too. Oh and even the Bluetooth puts out better sound. Headphone jacks are only better when you include an upgraded DAC and amp.

Tronam Samsung on a global scale dwarfs Apple. Keep in mind Sammy builds, Phones, computers, oil tankers, Tv's, and military tanks. The total number of smartphones sold in the US is very close with that of Apple. It's not hard to tell how Apple has a larger smartphone profit margin. They have Foxconn build a $200 device and sell it for $899. Before buying locked down proprietary accessories that's nearly a 400% markup. It's a business model that makes you scratch your head.

I love my 8 (went with the 256GB Gold). Yes it's incremental but the new glass back looks beautiful, and the improvements they've made that you can't see are really nice. Still really impressed with the A11 and Apple SoCs in general. Love the camera, and the speakers sound really good for a phone. It also feels more hefty and solid than previous iPhones which I really like. The only thing I would change is slim down the bezels a little but eh, no big deal. By contrast I can't stand the iPhone X. Not ready to give up the home button and use a bunch of stupid gestures in place of it yet.

Hey Michael, I still believe that you always stand out from the crowed of Tech youtubers, and you do a really great job. I would love to see a video about what apps you use on your daily driver "games apps .. etc" and I would love to see a 1440p video some day.
