In 2012, I went to Japan to meet my boyfriend, at that time I lived in Brazil and he lived in Japan. First point: We never have met each orther before. I stayed in Japan about two months and after I came back to Brazil. My trip back was the worst trip that I had. I had to stay in Paris for 6 hours waiting for the airplane. You can imagine how I felt at that moment, I was without the love of my life and we would only see each other after a one year. While I was waiting for the plane, I had this song on my iPod and I keeped listened again and again, looking at the exit gate from the airport waiting for my love to come in suddenly and take me to Japan again. However, nothing happened, and I came to Brazil. But in the end, I married with him, and today we live together very happy. But this song will always remind me of that moment. Lena is a very beautiful woman and always has been. I think the reason people didn't notice her as much in Tatu is because Julia was very provocative and showed her body off more where Lena was more conservative. Julia was also more outspoken so people paid more attention to her. I also don't think Lena was confident around Julia and blossomed after Tatu and became more comfortable in her own skin. I'm sad that Julia ruined herself with all that unessessary plastic surgery. I don't get it.

To be honest, I think this song is mostly about Sash. "Don't know how it happened to us / But we're here again..." She knew Sash before during tATu but met him again at an LA bar, hence the whole bit about "we're here again." And this was around the time when tATu was ending. I think Lena was going through some rough times because she felt lost. "You and I must find each other / Even if I'm blind from glaring lights..." and "Do you know the way that I should turn..." I think it all shows how much she was affected by the group's falling out and how in Sash--from the moment they met again--she finally found what she was looking for. It's really romantic, actually. But I do think there is some Yulia references here. She continues to search and search after all that's happened. The glaring lights, the noisy city streets... things like these are distracting, maybe even upsetting. "I can see that you can see a love that can't compare / Really isn't fair after all..." Why isn't it fair? Because he could see it but she couldn't until later? Maybe it was because somebody else was still on her mind at the time...

Somebody will probably see it differently than I do but I think it's interesting b/c while she's so busy feeling lost and mulling over Yulia, she finds herself lost IN LOVE with Sash. "Looking up and down and all around / Looking for what can't be found... " Literally, she is looking for Sash in places that he can't be found, whether in her mind or as she's walking around in the streets. Figuratively, she knows that love is something that can't be found easily. After all, she fell in love before in the most unexpected way (with Yulia during tATu). Just reading interviews of them and watching their performances ESPECIALLY during the D&M tour, you can very much tell that these two ended up falling in love with one another. They both admit it at some point after the group's breakup. In "Never Forget", the first lines are "We said that we were meant to be / That we were each other's destiny..." I really believe she thought that Yulia was the one for her. I was recently thinking about the line where she sings "Really isn't fair after all..." and I really think that sums up the idea that she probably thought that her and Yulia's love couldn't compare to anyone else's, but then something happened in 2009 and that was the end of it. She sees that Sash sees a love that can't compare, but she thinks it's unfair because she thought she already had that with Yulia. Turns out that there was another love for her after all and it was Sash, and now she wants to explore that so badly. "Shadows on the wall appear to be / But shadows never what they seemed..." This is her again thinking about Sash and how the shadows on the wall appear to be him. He is stuck in her mind. It could also be just shadows of her past that made her believe what was true for her never actually was, but that could be overanalyzing. Tl;dr: This song is basically about trying to desperately find love again after heartbreak, finding it unexpectedly in someone you know or knew, and being lost in your feelings by comparing it to a dance. PS: if you're still confused, I was thinking of making a video talking about what I think the song is about, but idk maybe this was pretty clear in itself. There's a lot of songs that I think warrant an explanation or two, especially songs during their solo careers :)

The rest of lyrics does not match the story of Sash and Lena. Their relationship started with one night stand. They don't have any past before then. It was just simple familarity. There is nothing so romantic about it. Cut it off people. She wanted to experience marriage and have a child. Sash was a cool option. She took it, enjoyed it and they divorced in the end. Some people say this song is about Yulia. I don't know. Might be. You can exactly be sure about couple of songs she wrote was for Yulia, but this one is hard to tell. Some references match, some do not.
