Don't forget to squeeze the bike between your legs, head over the triple clamps elbows up and a big one is re grip your hands on the handle bars it puts elbows up and out

I did as I was told I liked and I sub. I am 53 years old I have been riding dirt bikes since I was 9 first bike was a MR50 and there's probably been 30 different bikes over the years. I currently ride a 2016 RMF and I have a 2015 WR450. I get a lot from your videos remembering the ABC of riding is crucial.

When I started racing back in 1990 (at age 27!) one thing that was hard for me to get over is keeping power ON while landing. I had a bad habit of chopping the throttle right before touchdown, and that WILL always result in a very hard landing. Also, I tended to back off on the approach to a jump, and was always coming up short, which also caused hard landings. Thankfully I seemed to do pretty good at keeping the bike's attitude correct in the air. How did I get over both of them? I had a buddy back then (and if he sees this what up EJ you nutcase) who went after me on the track during a practice right before a race. He was kicking and punching me all the way around track, and as we made the last corner to the front straightaway he smacked me on the ass, HARD. I got pissed off and chased him, got right beside him before the finish line tabletop, and as we launched, I first called him a very inappropriate name (which everyone on the fenceline heard), but then realized as we both landed that he had set me up at the exact speed necessary to properly clear that jump. (It was the first time in over a YEAR of riding that track that I actually cleared it.) And that landing was so smooth I barely felt it. Bottom line is, keep power on and steady as much as possible while jumping, with the goal being to match the power at touchdown to your forward speed (or slightly accelerate). Second, it is far better in many cases to slightly overshoot a jump than to keep landing short. Your bike and your body will both thank you. Now at age 60 I have a 2006 YZ 125 and I am working to get back in race mode. My recent track time has been a mixed bag, I am way out of shape, and the bike's suspension is nowhere near set up correctly (A full custom revalve is happening next week), but I was pleasantly surprised by how much of my skills are still there after several gaps in my riding. (Latest one 8 years.) This video and the others that MX Factory have put up are helping me a LOT to get the basics back in play. Braaap on!
