Nice to see you in this episode with your dad. I was fortunate to have flown with him as a Flight Steward with a major airline in the past so is with your mom. Your mom was my direct senior in cabin services. I really had a "Fun Time" flying with your Dad who among pilots would have a call sign for him as "Da-ga" hehehe you would hear the scramble in the airways and call your dad wherein he would respond accordingly with a "Squeak" hehehehe. Your dad was one of the guys at that time flying on the famed BAC1-11 jet wherein LEGENDS like him would shuttle the Philippine Skies bringing passengers to their destinations. He was one of the guys that inspired me to take up flying instead of being in the cabin to be in the cockpit. His inspiration made me do the one thing that I thought would not be possible because of a lot of NEGATIVE reactions and recommendations supposedly coming from A MAJORITY of line pilots at that time who instead of encouraging you, they would discourage you (A bunch of Insecure individuals) they thought all the while that the flag carrier at that time would not expand anymore thus they just wanted to ensure their position and existence in the airline by being a bunch of........ Anyways, let me take this opportunity to thank your Dad Johnny very much for the inspiration and for encouraging me to learn how to fly as an AVIATOR. I made it thru Gen Aviation in 1988 both here and abroad and eventually flew initially the SD-30 the F-50 then the B737-400 and so on for the flag carrier for so many years. During those times I was in the line flying, Johnny will just be there every now and then and he was again there to tell me " You did it and welcome aboard" Extend also my regards to your Mom (Orpah) for being one of the most coolest senior cabin crew I have flown with most especially during our European basing days ( Amsterdam, Karachi, London, Cairo, Frankfurt, Rome, etc.... ( tell her will order foodies from her..) And for you Mike and Franco keep in inspiring a new generation of people that aims to reach for the skies just like what we did. As the saying goes: GODSPEED to all of you and All THE BEST of HEALTH.

Congrats! napaka informative ng channel ninyo! hoping to reach 1M ang channel ninyo. ano po ba ang suggestion ninyo sa sitwasyon ko? napanuod ko pa yung "Overcoming FEAR of FLYING: AIRLINE PILOTS Gives TIPS" magandang content pero bitin na bitin!! Lol Question po. 1. Aside from breathing exercise 1,2,3 and diverting my attention. ano pa po ba ang pwdng gawin para maalis ang takot ko sa paglipad ng eroplano? 2. Dumating na ako sa point na bago sumakay ng eroplano umiinom ako ng alak para lang maka upo sa eroplano. any advise po? 3. eto po ang laging nasa isip ko, kapag nag turbulance sa 30,000 feet ay babagsak ang eroplano. ano po ba and dapat gawin? 4. ano po ba ang chance na bumagsak ang eroplano? 4.1 left engine lang ang meron at yung right engine ay nasira? ano po ang chance ng survial na kaya pa paliparin ng pilot ang eroplano? 4.2 if both engine po ang nawala? kaya pa ba i-glide sa hanging ang eroplano? 4.3 kapag long haul flight more than 8hrs.. ilan po ang pilot sa cockpit? 4.4 ano po ang pina safe na type ng eroplano? boeing? A380? Yan ang mga tanong sa isip ko na laging gumugulo kaya natatakot ako sumakay ng eroplano. sana po ay matulungan ninyo ako na malinawan. Maraming salamat po at sana maka tulong pa kayo sa mga taong kailangan ng sagot about sa Airline Industry. Keep it up Captain!! Mile high! hahaha ....

If you're asking if you can become a pilot if you're a doctor of course yes. But if you're planning to sit in the cockpit in the a flight as a passenger unfortunately that's not allowed in today's rules due to security reasons.

"Bomber mentality pilots" of the old times are the worst. Di pa uso sa kanila ang CRM. No wonder marami ang accident before compared today. Masyado mataas ang power gradient noon. That is why di makapag speak up ang mga co-pilot sa captain out of respect kahit mali na ang ginagawa ng captain. Autocratic ang common na behavior ng mga captains noon, they believe na invulnerable sila at di nagkakamali. Of course nowadays maganda na ang CRM training at nagiging effective na rin para mawala ang old mentality, nakakaimprove din kasi ng communication and safety. Newer generation of captains are also approachable na rin, iba na rin kasi ang mindset ng kabataan ngayon. So nagkakaroon na ng open communication between captain and co-pilot. Nawawala na ang fear ng mga co-pilot to speak up to their captain. Thanks to CRM
