Nice to see my home town. During the yearly celebration of the liberation, you see Canadian flags pop up everywhere.

I don't know why but I always get a knot in my throat when I see pictures like this. I not sure I could ever visit the Netherlands although I would like to. I,fear I'd just be an emotional wreck. Thank you for putting this and your shorts out for me and everyone to see. There are starting to be deniers now that this happened over 75 years ago and it must be kept fresh in the minds of the young. History repeats itself. "Lest we forget"

It’s incredible how you find these old photos and find the exact spot where it was taken almost 80 years later, great work man

Great to see, I am very familiair with this part of Groningen. I used to live there. The church is the St. Josef. Rademarkt, Zuiderdiep and Steenstilstraat are the streetnames.

KZbin gave me your short of the last picture. Then I found this video of my city on your channel. Great work, making the times of then blend in with the current day! It helps to commemorate what happened then. Something we did last night at 20:00h. And the liberation that we celebrate today. So it's a perfect time to have found this video!

Fantastic work! What would "cherry on top" here is if you could add info about the photographer, and the units in the images. Possibly a bit more historical information as well along the lines of "troops resting after liberating X during battle of Y". The star of the show here is your process in finding those exact spots though, impressive persistence, well done!
