Kenny Rogers' perfect game took place in 1994 after the Rangers left Arlington Stadium. Just replace the radio call with Nolan Ryan's 7th no-hitter and the mistake will be fixed.

Or Mike Witt's Perfect game; only one thrown in original stadium, for The Angels though. Last game of the season and everybody talked crap about how they were just going through the motions, last game of year, crummy lineup blah blah blah, L didn't understand that at the time and still don't. Perfect game is a Perfect game.

I have fond memories of going to the Metrodome to watch games, driving up from where I lived in northern Iowa. There were revolving doors to get in, so they wouldn't lose air pressure as much. After the game, they opened up regular doors so the fans could get out faster, and those doors would literally blow you out of the stadium. Kids, including myself, would have fun trying to walk back in against the wind, but the gate employees would shoo us all away. After games we would wait where players would come out. Puckett would sneak out of a gate, so you'd have to guess which one it would be in order to catch him, and he would sign autographs for the people who guessed correctly. I'd always just go to where I could meet all of the players. Hrbek and Gaetti would always come out together and would form a line and sign for absolutely everyone. I also remember getting autographs from Blyleven and Viola, and several other Twins. The other team would come out from there and get on their bus to go to their hotel, and I remember getting Don Mattingly's autograph. Following a Royals loss, George Brett was in a bad mood, and essentially plowed through all of the kids to get on the bus. I think I got Cal Ripken's autograph. My favorite Metrodome memory was catching a batting practice home run by the Rangers' Toby Harrah that went over the left field plexiglass. My dad was able to find him after the game and got him to sign the ball on the manager's spot, along with a nice dedication to me. It's still on my shelf, 36 years later.

Shibe Park, Baker Bowl, and just for grins, hiw about the Hollywood Stars old ball park in LA. Sportsman's Park in St. Louis. I was thinking about the Star's ball park, but when I wanted to name it, I lost it. The old Oakland Oaks ball park from the PCL. Now i remember, Gilmore Field.

I wish that there were photos of the Minor League Baseball stadium that used to be where South George Medical Center is. It was called Pendleton Park, and the Valdosta Tiggers used to play there. Neither the team nor the ballpark exists anymore.

Arlington Stadium was originally a minor league ballpark named Turnpike Stadium and was the home of the Double-A Texas Spurs. It seated just over 10,000 fans and opened on April 23, 1965. Its original cost was only $1.9 million. Let's go DODGERS 2023 !!! ⚾️⚾️⚾️ ROGER, The LOS ANGELES DODGER (from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex)

@mikeivey71672 жыл бұрын
Very well done. I am quite sure that you could teal all over the U. S. And find many sites for stadiums that are no longer there, especially for minor league baseball. I will give you two from Houston TX. Old Houston Buff Stadium, last I saw, home plate was inside a Fingers Furniture store off I 45 south of downtown. Then old Jeppeson Stadium. Home of the Old AFL Houston Oilers. I believe it has been torn down, on the Campus of the University of Houston! Not sure if it exists anymore. Heard it had been demolished. Was used for many years to host High School Football games. Won’t be long until the old Astrodome rusts into hell too!
