i was one of the luckiest people who got the chance to go to Bartika’s pre-release in pokhara and listen to her upcoming album. among the songs, ‘k hunthyo hola hami sangai bhayeko bhaye?’ hit me the most. i don’t know whether it was the atmosphere of the theatre or my group of friends with whom i went, the warm embrace of Bartika’s voice, or just me and my convulating relationship with myself and the idea of love. i just felt so connected to the song, that i didn’t even realise that i was bawling my eyes out, soaked with tears. btw there were two other girls who were sobbing beside me (pokhara wala ma whoever you were hiiiii i hope you are well!!). personally, i had just experienced a heartbreak, the situation was kinda complicated, as the gen Zs call it a ‘situationship’. i had invested so much time, effort and emotion to a person who at the end of the wasn’t going to reciprocate the same. i poured my love, i gave them all, knowing they will never do the same for me. but yet i still cherished that feeling cause it made me feel something, it made me feel human. as painful as it was i poured my feelings to them knowing the answer would be no but i didn’t do that to get a yes or no, rather i did it for myself, to free myself. and i felt free. even though i feared the consequences, i felt brave, i felt the liberating august wind. and with this storm inside of me, thinking i was already over it, i went to the pre-release. while listening to this song live which is about a second chance and an alternate universe where that failed relationship worked out (giving major wong kar wai and la la land vibes) game me a closure i never knew i needed. i felt the doors of that chapter closing, i felt free again, i felt like a human. all thanks to Bartika di, your music and art gives life to so many of us, so many of our stories are knitted in the lyrics of your music. thank you. and if that person is reading this, thank you. sending my love. always.

"like the august wind" felt that so much, aah, can you too smell seasons? the arrival of winter comes with a particular smell, and fair amount of heartbreaks, some call it seasonal depression, I too don't know the source of it, but the sun sets before we all know it, it stops buring your skin, as if it knows, the pain...and maybe that's why he is gentle all the while...maybe there's actually no second chances, but as humans, we like to sit in hope, and that's when the magics are created ...i had read somewhere the hardest part is to keep things simple, once you're able to do it, its magic...that's what Bartika does everytime...

This reminds me of the person I lost but in a beautiful way. I have moved on and she has too whatever the reason we once had a genuine love towards each other. This song will never be enough for me. I still love her but i don’t want her. I know she is not coming back but i wish someday she would. Even if she comes I don’t want to be with her .. at least not in this life. From my perspective, what I feel is that the first line is sung by the person who wants to be with the other person, even after their departure. "Yehi, yehi nai ho arko juni, rojne xau timiley malai". And the second verse where she starts "Hamile herne movie ma herdina, timlai man parne kitab maile sati sakeko chu" is sung by the other person who does not want the relationship no matter how much they love the other person. And at last, the verse goes "Yehi, yehi nai ho arko juni, ma timro mero timi, rojne xau timile malai" is sung by the first person, with one last hope of reconciliation. Welp, that was my perspective. Out of all the people, we all have different stories and I came up with mine. Hope you enjoyed, thanks for reading.

I guess it is fine to show weakness. It is alright to show desperation. And sometimes it's fine to give yourself space to mourn. Even if I am begging, crashing or weeping. Even when people around me can see that I am struggling. Even when I am embarrassing myself. It doesn't matter because I am in love.
