Superb !! What an enlightened person Dr Sanjiv Sanyal is . Poverty aspiration it is a harsh reality what mr Sanyal has brought out . This podcast needs to be shown to more and more young lot . An eye opener !! We all are stuck in a situation where in we suffer from poverty inspiration !! UPSC is waste of time it is a fact youngster must carefully analyse this it is self explanatory. If you are talented and hardworking don’t join government jobs unless and until you are very very poor and no other opportunities available

Wasting time for 5 - 10 years behind UPSC is madness. However, if we give atleast a year for preparation, then our entire personality transforms positively. Problem is people can't come out of the preparation cycle. It is like addiction. We don't understand when to stop.

After watching this interview, I can truly appreciate how and why Modi is doing what he is doing. Definitely, there is change in mindset…we are more confident, bold and aspirational and ever before. I wonder if we had this kind of government and mindset since 1947, imagine where we would have been. There is a lot of reading and understanding to be done on how India’s journey has been and how our minds were hijacked and manipulated, else history will repeat itself in an ugly way. Thank you Sajeev sir for enlightening thoughts, I feel you are more member of EAC to the PM

That's the reason and go and research about modi ...modi is very dangerous...who said our economy is good..just read the articles...and read journals.. everything.....if you don't become a bureaucrat our politicians will play with people's life...rich people survive what about poor..if everyone is educated no one supports modi....and Amit shash you don't know the fucking truths...You will see upcoming 5 years... definitely this time modi win but just wait and watch ..... education is imp..modi is playing with that if modi gives education how North Indian villagers still working in south indians state like 200 300 rupees per day...

What a country of clowns we have become. Getting excited due to changed positive perceptions of India (which is just Modi’s PR) while the reality remains grim, and even more filthier. We as a country at this point are no more different than a mediocre individual making pennies but showing off as elite! So what if the perception has changed? Did the reality change at all? NO. Big NO. There’s absolutely nothing enlightening in this verbal overdose from Sanjeev Sanyal who has no qualifications at all to be in any EAC let alone PM’s EAC.

Yes, it was murdered by communist and We, the Bengalees, bear the pain in mind for our beloved city, Kolkata and West Bengal. CPM had murdered Kolkata and West Bengal, but also ruined the Bengali community morally, economically, socially. I appreciate Mr. Sanyal' concern about the issue. IAS is been considered as the epitome of success since the birth of our nation and even before the independence. But my concern is how many middle class youth will be able to find a better alternative in our socio political and economic scenario. What is the percentage of financial help extended by our financial institutions to commence a business. Do we have a level playing field here. We need authentic data to corroborate the possibility of finding a better alternatives. Merely criticising the aspiring youth isn't the solution to a problem.

Persisting weaknesses of hesitant Calcutta and easygoing Bengalees, as analysed by Dr Sanjeev Sanyal in this precious video presentation, have been identified so precisely. Accordingly, it's now easier to eke out the ameliorative steps required for regeneration of all round development once again, provided the Bengalees are really serious about their future. The observations made by Dr Sanyal would serve as a road map of sorts for necessary course corrections.

Reasons for downfall of Kolkata : 1. Partition of Bengal in 1947. Partition distanced two third of Bengal from Calcutta immediately lessening the importance of the city. 2. Rise of the Communists: Though B.C. Roy the CM of Bengal did quite a lot for development of the truncated part of Bengal, Communists kept gaining in strength capitalising the pains of partition. And rise of the Communists was associated with declining work culture in the state, leading to a decline in industrial relations. After B.C. Roy, freefall of Bengal took place. So did Kolkata.

For having 1/6th billionaire we should also have 1/6th of global GDP not just 1/6th population. Literally in PPP terms Ambani and Adani are richer then Bezos and musk without building any globally known/exported brand or products unlike bezos and musk. Most of their business are where government intervention or contracts are needed which clearly shows the crony nature of their wealth.

Kuch bhi logic laga de. India's population is almost four times that of the US so, what is this import/export argument? India had four unicorns in 2014 and now it's over 100. Tu bhi bana le ek startup/unicorn and ban ja millionaire or billionaire. I hope you will create something like "Jio" that revolutionizes the digital landscape of India. And if you know that Adani and Ambani get a contract delivered from government offices then go to court and get it cancelled. P.S. India needs more Adani and Ambani because they not only creating infrastructures in India but now pushing out of India too in a way expanding India's sphere of influence.

@@ChadErenYeager9392 Pappu ke 14, didn't you read the whole message? I'm not opposed to anyone becoming millionaire and billionaire. US has four percent of the total global population so, by his logic the US share should be four percent of the total global economy, 4 percent of the total millionaires, billionaires, etc., What kind of argument is that? As exporting Indian technologies goes to the world, it's not going to be easy. It can seen in the case of China (the likes of TikTok, Huawei, etc.) but eventually, it will happen in a few decades. Is it going to be easy? No, it will not. He talks about government intervention and contracts. Do you want entities like Air India(in government control) again? The government used to spend 20-25cr. daily to keep the airline afloat. I'm scratching my head to make sense of these arguments but after my reply, I saw that this person watches Ravish Kumar and after that, all of his arguments started to make sense.

Even if we take that in account the total seats come to around less than 1,000??? Look at the number of aspirants... I suggest even if you're topper in your school or college, then also leave UPSC, the struggle is not worth it and you'll do something better in life anyway... I've seen some of my friends from school and college suffer... I went through the normal route, I Did bachelors then masters then got a job, got promotions, switched jobs and doing well in life... They kept on preparing, I'm 33 now and many of my old schoolmates are depressed... And mind you the people I'm talking about were smart students- 90%+ in CBSE in 12th Science kind of smart...

@@Manisha-mz3ni Passing NEET or JEE is considerably easier than clearing UPSC. Individuals who have graduated or have higher qualifications should consider visiting their nearest economic centers such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, or Hyderabad to explore job opportunities. Although starting with a modest salary and possibly residing in a shared PG at the beginning of their careers, they will gain valuable experience and witness rapid salary growth as their skills develop. Spending years preparing for an exam with such a low probability of success is not advisable; I wouldn't even recommend it to top-performing students from school.

I partially agree with you. UPSC is not a waste of time. The amount of knowledge one gets can be used in any field. Apart from that, through UPSC even an aspirant from a very poor background can dream of achieving something very big, can change their destiny and also of their own family and we have so many examples for this. They just simply can't open any company or be entrepreneurs. It's is absurd. Government jobs are the surest and safety option nowadays. No private firm can promise that. Calling upsc a waste of youthful energy and diverting youths from pursuing secure job opportunities is showing something else.

Sir, I really appreciate your view on UPSC.❤ But i can agree with your perspective on Mrinal Sen's work. Actually if you really want to find out the reason of West Bengal's downfall, it was started since 1946, there was no state in India who had to allow to much refugees. The central government of that time didnt provide necessary support and Mrinal Sen's movie reflects that hardcore reality . Try to think those situations over political views...
