I love this idea. I have the same problem as John as in my mind (especially in the showeer or on the toilet) is always coming up with new ideas / improvements but my other half (who doesn't like change) never visualizes my ideas.

I am a retired teacher and at the end of a long day in my garden I love nothing more than watching the Bushcraft section on utube. I have a large garden and I often think that I would love to dig a hole and make an underground bunker for my husband and I to come to and drink coffee and think up new things to do. I think a Bond James Bond room would be awesome

I think it's very important to get the boys involved in planting, I did it years ago with my nieces and nephews and they all have green fingers in the garden. It's amazing for them to see the whole experience from seed the produce.👍❤

I love how the boys are allowed to help out. Any painting that isn’t perfect will make you smile when he is older! Going down my basement stairs my two nephews, Mark and Joseph, wrote their names, ages, and dates. Mark was only with us until he was 22 ( motorcycle accident) , so now it is a memorial wall that will never be painted.

Do children have to be your biological children? There are children without good homes, which I think you could offer. I can see it in your state of mind. It can be permanent or just taking temporarily same kids with you, for example one weekend per month. Those support-families are much needed at least here in Finland. You may have a strong bond with them allso. Just think if that could be what you want. 😊 These boys we are watching here are truly cuties. And John&Tara are great supportive parents. It's easier to grow when you have parents (or someone else) who is believing in you. It's such a treasure.

What I value most is the opportunity for disenfranchised parents in western countries to be able to learn from you just what they can accomplish with their children!! John and Tara, you are superb folks models. I have learned from you some things that I wish I had known while raising two daughters. They are accomplished and ages 49 and 44. Have you ever thought of doing GEOTHERMAL ENERGY? You are going to build basically from scratch, so wouldn’t that be worth it and feasible?

Wow! It’s all so much to absorb! Sawyer is coming on in leaps and bounds and is totally adorable. I love the idea of the underground room because l would like one for my place. In the bushfire season we have nowhere to go if fire is suddenly upon us. If you can keep that in mind when you’re building, it would give you peace of mind knowing your family has a temporary refuge. Fire spreads so quickly and can jump from hilltop to hilltop in a blink. I love the underground room idea - I used to imagine having something like that when I was a child then the people next door had an underground Pool / Snooker room built. I never went in, but it fired my imagination. Oh, if only. Isn't it great to get back to the soil? Crusoe seems totally at home with it and Sawyer is catching on. Hobit house is so cute! Will be good to see plants on top totally hiding it! James Bond house could be an entertaining area with the spa, maybe with a dark moody bar with wooden beams and deliciously snug sofas, store some wine (maybe some produce tucked in one of the corners of it-double use)….Sooo looking forward to seeing this project develop! 😁

It's awesome that your children are involved at an early stage in their lives when gardening, sowing and planting. I had the opportunity to do the same with my grandfather who had 10 acres of ancient woodland overlooking Windermere in Cumbria and I learnt so much... Good Onya!! However, he didn't and couldn't teach me about how to stop veggies from frying in the heat in Fremantle, WA!!!!
