I literally was holding my breath when John put in the sink. And YAY, it fit! You are very brave Tara driving through Pt with the boys! My 🎩 off to you!! Your kitchen is going to look amazing! John I’d put another long bit of wood on the inside of the steps to cover the jagged concrete then and round the wood edge. I’d carpet the stairs with ready made runners and secure them with rods because what’s the best game, bumping down the stairs. I don’t know how we coped without baby gates.

We physically built most of our home, too in 1989-whilst living 35 miles away and both working full time. We’re still here and I will say the projects never quite stop. Lady, you are a hero. This takes nothing away from John who is both creative and a craftsman. I am incredibly impressed by what you did in this video!! And when you finally got home, instead of complaining what a stressful day you had, you complemented on the progress in the kitchen. It's refreshing to see the love you guys share with each other and the children. ❤ This is the next day after viewing the video and commenting (above). The feeling that keeps arising in my chest is what a foolish act it was to send a mother with a newborn and a toddler into a downpour to a place she's never been, to negotiate (in a 'foreign' language) the purchase of a product, trying to keep the children happy over 'hours' in the car, all in a foreign land. I would have at least asked one of the lady neighbors to accompany you. But, alone? What if one of those nasty accidents had happened to you? Maybe you are brave, but 'I' would never have agreed you do that. There it is.

On one hand, we could say thank God for this rain after an almost year long draught. But getting on the road in that weather, epic😬. Thank God the sink fit, John would not have been amused otherwise. The place is looking really good, the cabinets are beautiful. I do like the green. The railing on the stairs will keep the kids safe. The kitchen is amazing even now. You inspired me to make the same kind of kitchen, with real wood. I think that is much healthier than this modern materials with lot of glue and chemicals inside. One sugestion for dealing with mud on your road near hous. We in Bosnia have that problem in rural areas. Solution is to order a few m3 (small truck) of some kind of agregat or grid or crushed stones and just pour that on the road.

I'm still praying for you all. 🙏. Tara, a trip home with your babies. How wonderful. Your trials with the children take me back to when I had a toddler and a new baby. At the time we only had one car which my husband used to go to work. I had to bus it to a doctor's appt. A long way from the outskirts of Vancouver to downtown Vancouver. Baby in the snuggly and toddler by the hand. Two puppies came at us. Big puppies that scared my daughter who proceeded to climb me like a bean pole. It was summer and I had a tube top on. !!!! People looking out their windows at the commotion, Tanja screaming. No one came to help get the dogs away. Upon the return I told my husband that's it, I need a car. Luckily his boss gave him a company car and that fixed that problem. Until next week🌸💗

It’s starting to come together, I love how the couches are right there on the corner, well thought out. I did held my breath when Jon brought the sink in, my hat a relief. My husband and I has done home improvements during the pandemic, it does get frustrating when you get the measurements wrong the first time but kudos to both of you with babies on board we are empty nesters. What wonderful progress you have made! John you don’t give yourself enough credit, you are a great carpenter. I agree the cabinet paint color was a little too dark.
