About 3 weeks ago I went to Italy as an exchange student, without knowing any Italian and being extra scared since the family that was to host me couldn’t speak English well. To cut a long story short, my trip was a nightmare, but a pleasant one. I enjoyed every moment of it and I learnt some Italian there in order to communicate and cover my needs. Listening to this song takes me back to those beautiful days in Bari-Modugno that I’ll probably never forget

2015 and still adoring this beautiful song!!! I heard it when I'm just around 7 and now I'm 24. My favourite love song ever!... I just still don't understand why English people decided to translate the title to "Time to say goodbye" which for me is quite negative where in fact the meaning of the song is taking the girl with him in all his dreams. They should've stick to direct translation "With You, I'll Go" :)

Wrong translation. This is a song about a man who loves a woman, and wants to leave with her. But he knows she'll never go with him. Love unfulfilled. Very sad. Very Beautiful.

Anytime i tell someone that this is the song that will play when I walk down the isle, they always seem to not understand and tell me its a sad, breaking- up kind of song. Its called time to say goodbye! I am always having to explain that, no its not. Its a love song. Time to say goodbye to his life before he met his love. Wish more people were aware of this so it will make more sense to them at my wedding.

This song, about 2 years ago, is what inspired me to learn Italian. I wouldn't call myself fluent yet because for about a year of that I was only doing it here and d there but I've buckled down again. it was cool to hear this and sing along. When I decided to learn I remember wishing I could sing along and know what was being said (of course this one has English translation but still). Actually, getting into and learning the lyrics to a lot of Italian songs has helped so much. Also, once you learn the Italian when you hear, say Andrea Bocelli or Maneskin singing in English it feels like such a waste. English is fine, but it isn't beautiful.
