I just love the way citizens from the UK speak. It’s funny sometimes but in a good way, but I really enjoy listening to them speak. The guy from the channel called “TC” or “ That Chapter”, will say “Let’s give it a goo” instead of “Let’s give it a go”. Love it, love it, love it. I believe his name is Mike and his stories are always true and horrifying, nothing funny about the contents of what he’s speaking about at all. It’s just their way of speaking that makes me smile along with his facial expressions. Okay, since I got that off of my chest, let me give this story a “goo”. I’m sure many will agree with me. 6:50 "...but it appeared no items of value were taken." How would they know if it was taken? There could have been 10 stacks of 1k in hundreds. If it's not there during the search, how would they know to make the claim that no items of value appeared to be taken? Yes, I know most of the time no items of value are taken in these staged robberies. But how can they be sure that nothing of value APPEARS to be taken?
@lauraatkinson4790

As I said, others living in the house or who knew the victim would be asked about items of value. If items on that list weren't taken and other items of value were also left behind, then it would *appear* that no items of value were taken. 23:45 Actually, detective, stomach contents are a notoriously unreliable means of estimating time of death. The rate at which food is digested changes according to several different variables. At best, stomach contents can give you a 12 hour range of when a person died.
@roxyroxelle
@roxyroxelle 2 жыл бұрын
And dental "print" as well. They are no longer permitted in the US courts as evidence from what i know, due to being unreliable. @@roxyroxelle I agree that dental prints aren't reliable enough to convict a person on. I don't mind if it's used in addition to other evidence, but it's certainly not a smoking gun. In most cases, DNA trumps all other forms of evidence, but in this case, it seems like the detectives chose to disregard the DNA evidence against one suspect in favor of the dental print evidence against a different suspect. That seems suspicious to me. The reasoning the forensic scientist gave for minimizing the importance of the DNA evidence also seems suspicious. Overall, I don't like the way this case was handled.

It's called "corpus delecti" which generally means that a crime has to be proven to have occured, i.e. a dead body to prove murder. Some states will not allow put forth a case without a body because of how difficult it is to prove that a murder has happened. All the defense lawyer has to do is raise doubt - maybe the victim ran off, they could still be alive because you can't prove they're dead without a body - and when you're a juror you are told that the prosecution has to prove *beyond* a reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty.

Yup Paulina should have chosen better quality men ,and then she wouldn't have been killed, they would have just paid rent. So sad. Open relationships can work,but fooling around behind your lovers back will always lead to troubles. No one likes being made a fool. But in this case ,it seems like the guy was to proud to have her find out that he was a looser!

Open relationships aren't relationships they're expensive friends with benefits and possible STDs if I ever trust a woman enough to get in a relationship again it's me and her nobody else getting any from either of us but I doubt there's a woman on this planet that can convince me to trust her that much and any single guys looking to get married I thought my uncle was joking when he told me if you want a faithful wife marry an ugly woman with some meat on her bones because you can go to work not worried about people trying to crawl in bed with her and in the winter you put that insulation between you and the wall

The latest information I could find on John David Smith is that he was charged with Fran Gladden-Smith's murder and extradited to NJ to face trial in 2021. In October he was offered a plea deal, but I can't find any information on whether he took it. Ohio DOC records show him still incarcerated at the Marion Correctional Center.

She was an a responsible strong woman, sleeping around with various men for money and or other benefits. "She would have had her own things packed are ready for being evicted" I think it would have been easier just to pay the rent. Having someone over and telling him you need to leave by 1 am because there's someone else coming... Damn, you have no moral values at all. No self respect, so if you don't respect yourself, don't expect strangers to respect you. All the compassion to the victim and her family, that's totally wrong and unacceptable, murder can't be justified. May all learn something out of this tragedy, don't be a manipulative smarty bitch, don't be a murderer.

That's too bad every state needs to keep the death penalty for any crime against children and murderers a tall tree and a short rope and we need to do a wholesale cleaning of every death row instead of taxpayers paying for them including healthcare to keep them living till they die of natural causes and old age minutes after a guilty verdict they need to be swinging solve several problems at once no chance of reoffending clear space in overcrowded prisons and lower taxes or at least tax money can go where it should
