It's not my hypothesis it's Trumps, he's literally spoke numerous times about how his son Baron kept on telling him to go on social media with certain influencers. When you compare the campaigns whilst the Democrats went for a traditional "ground game" of knocking on doors Trump was appearing on Adin Ross, Joe rogan ect using social media to reach as many people as possible and bounce around in their echo chambers. And looking at reform you see they're doing the same tactic on Tiktok and Twitter.

Just don't fall into the trap of confusing illegal migration with legal migration, such as applications for student residence visas, nor our international obligation to take our share of asylum seekers (the Tories closed down the normal methods, forcing desperate people to look for illegal routes).

Funnily enough, Musk backed a US presidential candidate in 2020 who wanted to take money completely out of politics, apart from the direct salaries, and also introduce Universal Basic Income. He was Andrew Yang, who would probably have been the freshest breath of fresh air in American politics. And he got a fair bit support. I think people can remember the Yang Gang. Anyway, he eventually bowed out and endorsed Biden.

But maybe citizenship is one of the reasons Farage has gone to see Musk, since Farage famously advises wealthy people on how to gain tax advantages by taking up UK residence and/or citizenship. His dislike of immigration doesn't extend to rich immigrants, especially those willing to pay him.
