And here I was thinking why this chapter was included so abruptly in the narrative after Joseph...... Thanks for helping us connect the dots in the grand scheme of God. You are brilliant at balancing the big picture and the details. Truly a gift from God

@@JordanNealRogers Do you mean the methods don't matter if the end goal is reached? Suddenly has morality gone into hiding? Good coverup.Yeah , and at that time how come the daughter in-law knew before hand that the father in-law was coming? 5g network? And without Judah's descendents there is no house of David and therefore no....you guessed it. Such shaky foundations?

Was Thamar righteous? Thank you, for this sermon, from Cabo Verde Islands 🌴

A genuine question: Do we consider God righteous? Does the idea of righteousness even apply to God? Or does the fact of Him being the creator of all things imply that His actions are justified by default?

Tamar knew she had to keep the bloodline pure, Judah having married outwith his tribe, therefore the sons were the problem, hence God killed them. When Judah's wife died and Shelah had come of age, Tamar knew what she had to do. Tamar must have been a pure bloodline. Just like Noah, who was righteous in his generation, Judah actually tells us Tamar was righteous also, more so than himself who had not kept his generation pure.
