If you’re going to Japan, I would highly recommend going on a go-kart drive with streetcar Tokyo. it was an awesome way to see Tokyo and everyone was so friendly.
We booked through Facebook messenger and took the train to their Tokyo Bay location.
Tokyo Bay is one of the longer courses running from about an hour and a half to two hours. Even though we enjoyed our course during the daytime, I would also recommend recommend booking for a nighttime drive to see all the Tokyo lights at night.

How did you guys feel after riding for nearly two hours? Were you tired? I've never ridden longer than 15 minutes and i'm debating this route vs the shibuya one that is roughly a hour.

Is possible to mount a GoPro on it or is it best to wear the GoPro physically?
@TheNikeAirman

I believe there are mounts on the karts for a go pro but personally I think it’s a better POV to see the kart itself and your hand with the GoPro on your head.

Unfortunately you cannot. They tell you before you drive and if you get caught they cancel the tour on the spot. It’s illegal there in Japan while driving but you can take it out at red lights !

Looks really fun to do. But having to translate my driver's license into Japanese (certain countries) makes this activity almost cost twice as much. Kind of holding me back... :(

I'm not from the US but from Belgium. It's one of the 7 countries which require a translated driver's license (cost of €75 over here) I haven't dug deep into this issue yet so I'm not sure if there is a somewhat cheaper alternative. The term 'AAA' seems to be a US thing?

Unfortunately, I don’t believe they have 2 seaters but I saw that monkey kart has an option for someone to ride in the back of a scooter like vehicle that the tour guide drives!

As someone living in Tokyo for over a decade let me speak for the millions of people here and say, we hate people driving go karts through the busy streets and are amazed it's not illegal.

You are wrong and parroting Instagram white girl material. Find me a poll from citizens of Japan and not just residents who think it's upsetting the Japanese. Nobody cares about them except idiotic impatient taxi drivers and the parasitic media that makes a big deal about literally anything they can. I work for another company in another location and we never get any issues from the locals. They regulate karts a-lot more now. Now they have to use 50cc motors, have compression steering columns. Specific IDPs ( many countries are banned IE China, Indonesia, India), local license and a passport. They only reason they are "dangerous" is because the tour operator does EXACTLY what they are doing in this video. Going way too fucking fast, no suspension, waving at everyone. Now we are limited to 50cc we wont be able to go extremely fast unless the operator of the kart decides to do so. Blame the guides. Ive done guiding in New Zealand with ATV's in Hanmer Springs, Ski instructing for 8 years....I have NEVER had my customers in danger because I can read when they are drunk, on drugs, unable to understand my words, distracted, or an adrenaline junky trying to show off..... I pull the pin every single time someone does something I specifically said they should not. For example, I confiscate all their phones before our tours, because some Taiwanese ticktok brain rot kids wouldnt stop using their phones at the lights, not illegal but not safe. Now we run our tours with the phones in our support car. They can use them when we stop at a sight. If they over take anyone in the group, out. We use translated videos for a our safety demo and kart operation and we go over the laws and all the specific things that occur to karts in Japan that we MUST look out for. For example, bus's and trucks are completely given the right of way. Our groups are told to let them pass or take the lane, we can split up and regroup no issue. Nothing is a race I don't think the locals hate us. The media hyper fixates on anything that happens with them (the other companies that are burnt out ALT's). Our company has 58 karts and 3 locations. We have never had a single Japanese person say anything bad to us, if they think it, cool, but I don't see "millions" of people on social media crying out to have them banned. I am not saying my company WON'T have a major accident, I am sure they will, but with the amount of customers we turn over, its bound to happen.
