Saw Rune in highschool on a Volcom demo with Bam, Geoff Rowely and Aarons Susi. Such a sick demo Was my first time seeing proper Vert skating in person. Those guys skated balls to the wall at all times. Rune had the best flow in the skateboard park events in Xgames.

Rune was my favorite skater in THPS 1 when it came out. I was like 12 and I had no clue who he was, but I LOVED his name, it's so creative, and his move set was my favorite. It made me a lifelong fan of his going forward. I'm so damn glad to finally hear his story. Thank you guys. And for those who don't know, runes are glyphs; so the name Rune Glifberg is a really creative name.

Man... I remember being a 6 year old child in "Fælledparken" and Rune Glifbergs just kinda comes in, sits on a bench changing his board, and giving away his old one like it was nothing. He was like "here" to the random person next to him, and he was so happy for getting that board i remember hahaha. It wasn't even a heavily used board or anything, it was basically brand new but used for like a week or two LOL. Good times! Edit: This was before "Fælledparken" got renewed

For anyone wondering that doesnt want to go back and watch the Bastien 9 club. He said it was probably 5 tries and he never missed the kickflip. He landed first try but the board flew out. If you want to watch it is the first thing they talk about, within the first three minutes so you don't have to search for it much.

Subsequently, Activision had Neversoft work on a prototype for a skateboarding game, which would end up becoming the first in the Tony Hawk's series of skateboarding video games. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was a critical success, leading Activision to acquire Neversoft in April 2000.[43] After eight games, the series has brought in $1.6 billion.[19]

I remember Rune as a Fury truck guy. Hawk too? I left 25 years worth of Thrasher at my last house. Was too much. In a cheap little bookcase. I prayed that whoever bought that house was a skater or could at least appreciate the history there. No room in storage unit. Huge sacrifice. Still bummed. I mention Thrasher because i could have just flipped through & looked it up. Research.
