Chris is right on the money as far as that ending scene with Diane and Bojack. The awkward pause is supposed to imply that that IS the last 'real' conversation they'll ever have. Diane is finally ready to let go of LA Diane and Bojack is apart of that identity. Bojack deep down knows this which is why he doesnt really fight her on it- he knows its time to move on.

It's crazy cuz episode 1 is where BoJack talks to Diane for the first time in his life when PB introduces her, and in the last episode is when he supposedly talks to her for the last time. The show literally ends exactly where it begins, but with the characters more matured.

Yup. This show was meant to portray real life as closely as possible. In real life, people don’t get their happy, fairytale endings or at least, they don’t stay happy forever. Another day comes. I'm not sure how many people will have caught this, but in the very first episode of the show, when Bojack is talking about Horsin' Around, he says, "It's not Ibsen, sure, but..." (which we later learn in the season 2 premiere is referencing a criticism of his mother's), and in the last episode, he's directing an Ibsen play. And when he's telling Princess Carolyn about it, he says, "It's not Strindberg, but..."

The fact that Bojack likes Ibsen is actually a lowkey throughline! In Season 2, we learn that the "It's not Ibsen" line is something Bojack repeated from his mother, who comes to see an episode of Horsin' Around and says "It's not Ibsen." And then in Season 4, Butterscotch mentions that Beatrice read an Ibsen play and got *ideas* about feminism and womanhood. It's a wonderfully appropriate moment at the end, that Bojack is honestly pursuing something that fulfills him artistically -- that maybe he became interested in Ibsen because of his abusive mother, but now he's made it his own thing.

I tend to agree, but also things are not so absolute in this show. Things might change, they might not. "In the end, we don’t know the answer to any of those questions. And that’s ultimately the answer that we need. Life isn’t something that we can carve into 30-minute portions and expect a resolution at the end of that run time-or even at the end of 77 of those portions. Life isn’t something that has a beginning, a middle, and an end easily sorted into three acts. Life is funny and tragic and unpredictable all at the same time, life is a series of choices and consequences that pay off or come back on us in ways that we’d never expect. Life is a series of meaningless distractions and important developments, and we have to figure out the difference. Life is a series of closing doors, but it’s also a series of opening doors: opportunities we can take advantage of, feel good about passing up, or come to regret years down the road. Life is complicated, it is messy, it goes in every direction possible. You can always screw it up, and you can always make it better". I lost a friend the same way. I'm still bitter about it but at least I understood why they left. They said I was the Bojack in our personal story, and they couldn't have those things in their lives anymore. Yet... They still do have those things themselves, just not with me. So I lost one of my best friends because I made new friends, and he never gave them or me a real chance. Or if he did he didn't tell me... After the insults and judgements were calmly shared, I left, thanked him for showing me this show, and for his friendship... I haven't called since, but I know he's alright. Thankful he was part of my life, but he's wrong about me, I'm just done showing him why. And I think this is the last time I'll ever mention it. Keeping my anonymity on purpose. He doesn't watch this crap so he'll never find it. But I get it. He's still wrong, And it's cool.

Life's like that sometimes. I had a relationship simliar to that. I wasn't the bojack they were...but they left treating me like I was. It's unfortunate because I felt very close to them and it ended because they decided to cheat on me and treat me like dirt in the end. All we can do now is move on and experience life the way we want. Edit: typo

We should have a spinoff series with Hollyhock. Or at least bring back Tuca and Bertie.

One spinoff episode for Hollyhock similar in vein as the Horsin Around Christmas Special, that is all I ask.

What did Diane mean when she said to Bojack: " It's going to be okay"??! WHAT? SHE CAN'T POSSIBLY KNOW THAT!

as someone who spent a large majority of their formative years with their father incarcerated, shoutout the brother in the middle. not all of us come out of that shit well adjusted, I know I sure as fuck wasn't for a long time. "you can get way fucked up in jail" is very very true. my father came out as much of a junkie as he went in, honestly worse, since they started getting the trank and fent instead of straight dope while he was inside.

The white chick forgot her name and Rana literally doing the same thing and nearly at the same time at 15:17 😂 Dont blame them, even as a guy I was feeling way to emotional. One of my all time favorite shows ended and it was the saddest day in my life at that point. I was addicted to this show, But its better being addicted to this than drugs and Alcohol. So thank you Bojack Horseman for keeping me sane and thanks for helping me fix myself as an individual. I will keep strong! But I will also miss this show greatly but once in a while I will not forget to Re watch it. But I do hope we get some sort of spinoff to this show, maybe when Bojack was young and we focus more at his parents and they family relationship before he made it to Hollywoo,I think that could be interesting. Or more of deep dive to Other characters like Mr Peanut Butter, Princess Carolyn, Todd or Diane. If Better Call Saul was able to get a prequel to breaking bad then I think this show deserves a spin off or some sort of sequel / prequel. Bojack Horseman in my opinion is as good of a show as Breaking Bad!

Bojack is over now... and contrary to what people were saying, everything isn't worse now. It's actually very good. I like it
