In episode 3 Tanjiro and Kotetsu smash open Yoriichi, they find the 300 year sword in it, Kotetsu decides Tanjiro should get it and Haganazuka comes and takes it and says he'll sharpen it for him. It's been a red thread through the entire season this far lol Kanamori also told them that he uses a special Haganezuka family secret sharpening technique that takes 3 days and 3 nights of constant uninterrupted work to finish and that people have DIED using this sharpening technique (since they, yknow... work constantly for 3 days and 3 nights)

Even though Muichiro made upper 5 look like a joke I think it's important to not overlook how strong the demon slayer mark is. Upper 5 even made a point in saying that he had the same mark on his face as the kid with the hanafuda earrings and that Muzan specifically made him a target. No spoilers obviously, but keep in mind that when the mark shows up on one of the demon slayers that they seem to be much stronger and faster. Even Muichiro stated that he felt "really in the zone" while the mark was active even though he did not seem to be aware of it.

For those who have doubts about how the power of demons and Hashiras scale. Upper Rank 5, yes, he is more powerful than Daki and Gyutaro. Tokito in his basic form he couldn't beat him, hence the boost of Tanshiro's mark. But ultimately. It seemed easy, but Upper Rank 5 is extremely powerful. Upper Rank 4, the same...At the level of Akaza I would say, only with an obvious weakness (The first 3 Upper Rank have no obvious weaknesses). Upper Rank 5 didn't have it either, the only way to beat him was to literally surpass him in strength/speed (Hence Tokito and his mark).

In case you didn't realize...the mark that appeared on Muichiro's face makes him stronger...that's why taking out that upper moon seems easier than Uzui or Rengoku. Also doesn't mean Mitsuri will necessarily have an easy time just because she's fresh. Thre fight in Tokito ang Gyoko is almost easy only because Muichiro is so strong . He even kill a demon when he's 10 no fighting experience and became a hashira in only 2 months. Gyoko is not weak . Source from a commenter "mastouri edam" on another reaction video to this episode Gyokko's backstory was only mentioned in a textbook so Im gonna tell his backstory ( this is not a spoiler) : "when he was a human, managi (Gyokko's human name) lived in a fisherman's villgage where people would rather avoid him for being a weird kid, he was known for collecting dead fish and other strange activities that led him to be disliked by others and kept their distance from him. His parents had passed away from a drowning incident, something that he was fascinated by and found beautiful when he saw their bodies. At one point, a child approached and teased him, causing him to lash out and murder the child by stuffing them in a jar. The child's parents had found out and in a fit of rage, proceeded to stab Managi and left him to die. He was eventually approached by Muzan Kibutsuji and became his minion, turning into the demon Gyokko that later became Upper Rank Five. Since then, he would prey on the flesh of humans, specifically children, and modify his body to his very own liking.

So a lot of people are downplaying Gyokko. There's a reason he's UM5 above Gyutarro. Sure you can argue that without Daki he would beat Gyokko, and that may be a possibility, but that doesn't mean Gyokko is weak by any means. He wouldn't be UM5 if he was. Regardless, let me put it into perspective. In season two, we see that Tanjiro tried to behead Gyutarro, twice. First time ultimately failing, and second time only managing to do so because he manifested the demon slayer mark into reality. Now a bit of spoilers; but the mark greatly enhances one's physical abilities to the max, therefore Tanjiro was able to decapitate Gyutarro the second chance. Now, Muichiro is the direct descendent of Upper Moon 1, Kokoshibo who was the 2nd strongest demon slayer in existene, second only to his twin brother Yorichii. He became a Hashira after TWO MONTHS of picking up a sword, whereas Tanjiro has been training for YEARS and he is still leagues below Muichiro despite being younger. Tengen, back in season two said it himself that Muichiro is talented and hashira prodigy. Muichiro is ONE of the strongest Hashira ever, and has the potential to surpass even Gyomei, the strongest Hashira alive currently. That's how insanely strong he is. So Gyokko isn't weak, he was just purely outclassed and outgunned in every aspect. He almost soloed base Muichiro without the mark, but once Muichiro manifested the mark he was too strong for Gyokko. Not to mention Gyokko's weak-ass mentality and inflated ego did get the best of him too, leading to him underestimating Muichiro.
