All yell and no chit chat makes jane a very dull girl. So i am asking you: What is your favorite thing about the DC fandom as opposed to Marvel & WHY?

The DC universe has a more interesting Cosmic side than Marvel with the Endless and all the New God stuff, though they do borrow from each other. Idk about comparing the fandoms to one another though, they all sort of gel together in my mind, but I do think the nice Superman fans are generally cool. Also they are generally more accepting of legacy characters like Jaime I think

Honestly do like that the DC fandom doesn't compare everything to the movies. When anything Marvel happens it is always compared to the MCU as if that was invented before the comics. I like seeing new interpretations of characters and stories and what that interpretation says about the original character or story.

Honestly? It's just that I grew up with DC. The entire DCAU was appointment viewing for me as a kid, and as I got older I got into Vertigo comics. Throw in my lesbian redhead-loving anarchist therapist ass identifying hardcore w/Harley and crushing on Ivy and it's never been a contest for me.

Cheshire isn’t lying about the baby, the show drops a lot of classic story beats on clone Roy here. She always had a thing for him, so them coming together during the time jump makes sense. You’ll see who Sportsmaster’s partner is, I forget if there’s a hint towards who the person is.

We've already gotten 3. The kroloteans getting terrified and running away in episode 1 after they see Blue Beetle. The kroloteans mentioning encountering the competitors warrior in episode 3 and lastly the "Partner" using the same type of weapon as Blue Beetle in this episode.

And so Lian Harper makes a debut. She’s straight from the comics where her parents were also Cheshire and Roy. And, just like in the show, Roy didn’t know about her existence for quite a while after she was born. After Cheshire left her in Roy’s care, she lived at Titans Tower with her father and the rest of the Titans. Throughout her time there, she had multiple caretakers tending to her when her father and the other Titans were busy being heroes. Fun fact: One of said catetakers was Deathstroke’s daughter Rose Wilson, specifically during „Titans Vol. 2“. Anyway, let’s hope little Lian’s story doesn’t end the same way it ended in the comics…

As mentioned in the episode Jaime(Pronounced Haime) Reyes isn't the first blue beetle he is one of dc's many legacy characters with multiple people holding the mantel: robin, Flash, green lantern, ect

Back in the late 60's/early 70''s Red Arrow became a drug addict! It was part of a Green Lantern/Green Arrow storyline exploring more real life issues. He was originally Green Arrow's sidekick, but was feeling neglected. He did recover, and he and Cheshire were a couple and had a daughter! In the comics his daughter and "Grandpa Green Arrow" are trapped in the future.

Yeah, I don't have a primary source, but supposedly, when asked about using the Original Roy Hunt instead of addiction to account for Red Arrow's condition, Greg Weisman replied "Why can't it be both?" On a Cartoon Network show they weren't going to say it explicitly, but the way Red Arrow was drawn was supposed to indicate it.

Ted Kord was the second Blue Beetle. Dan Garrett was the first. Both of these characters were created at other comic book publishers. DC acquired the characters later. Jamie was the first Blue Beetle created at DC Ted joined the Justice League in the comics.

A few people have mentioned that Roy/Red Arrow/Speedy was a heroin addict in the comics. What they haven't mentioned was how important that issue was to comics history: it was only the second Big Two comic to be published without Comics Code Authority approval, because they didnt allow depictions of drug use. And unlike the first (an issue of Spider-Man a few months earlier), the DC comic broke sales records and won awards. The fact that an unsanctioned comic could do that was the beginning of the end for CCA--which still exists but as a powerless shadow of its former self--and helped open up DC to handle more mature and political issues. Its pretty much the moment the Silver Age ends and the Bronze Age begins.

The origin of the JLA was revealed in Justice League of America Vol 1 #9 when seven heroes first came together to repel the Appelliax alien invasion. When the world's greatest heroes were unable to defeat this alien threat individually, the Martian Manhunter, the Flash (Barry Allen), Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Superman and the Batman cooperated together as a team to defeat the Appelliax invaders.

So when this episode came out I immediately remembered the iconic Green Arrow comic that delved into Speedies drug addiction and this is an homage to that. and YES it was in the Justice League (movie of sorts) the multiple episode arch that kicked off the Justice League cartoon/animated series that is what Connor was referring to if I'm remembering it correctly. There is SOME good there when the show actually decides to focus on the primary cast rather than the ever increasing side cast they keep introducing. That gives me hope that if they make a season 5 and learn from those mistakes and focus a bit more on the main cast and story that it could be good again.

I haven’t read them I just know some details) and I believe this obsession is the shows version of that (cause they can’t exactly have him do real drugs. He did. He became addicted to heroin. In the comics Green Arrow found out from Green Lantern (Hal Jordan version), Black Canary was the one who helped him get clean and sober and back in fighting shape. To answer you about why they didn’t mention his drug addiction, at the time this aired on Cartoon Network.
