As a manga reader, yes Hatsume does come back and provides some important upgrades. She also provides a lot of comedy. Hatsume's quirk does help her with her inventions because she can make fine tune smaller parts without having to use special eye ware.

It’s funny how obvious the change Deku needed to make is but it is pretty easy to miss. He’s not trained in martial arts or fighting in general really and most people’s fighting styles don’t include or revolve around kicking unless they’ve trained specifically to do so, so it’s easy to miss. He’s essentially a smart school kid who’s done a lot of strength, stamina and speed training. Besides with Gran Torino, we haven’t seen him actively working on his fighting style until then so it makes sense he didn’t think about kicks, especially with him trying to be just like All Might who never kicks.

Yeah, it's kinda like he's been doing basketball all this time and he's a big fan of a basketball player, but he just can't really do it, especially after getting arm injuries. Then tries kicking the ball and realize his thing is football/soccer and he's way more comfortable with it.
