Cracking day you had with plenty fish, especially that big Pollock, and a surprise bass. One little niggle, would like to see you lowering the lures down and getting the "take" a bit more. Thanks for uploading.

Hi mate, usually if I leave the camera on I get nothing and end up with a flat battery lol. So I try to save battery life and switch it on when I get a take, but sometimes I get rewarded with a take when the camera is recording and that’s a bonus. Hope you enjoyed the video anyway. 👍

I don’t know if adding a Muppet increases the hook up rate but I like them so thought why not add one. Glad the deep diver worked out for you. I was thinking of taking our league up to skinningrove some time, can you give me an idea where’s the bast place to park / launch from and is it rough ground from the start or do you have to paddle a long way out before you get rough ground? Thanks 👍

@@KayakFishingCentral Hi Carl its best to park in the car/boat park just over the bridge across the stream you get a choice from there launching from the two small beaches. One's a bit rocky others more sandy. . . Its mixed ground almost straight away but there's a few good reefs not too far out, have a go ya'self to give it a try. . . Check the tides tho cos high tide is onto rocky beach comin back in ! ! ! Hope this helps a bit 👍🎣🎣 Tight Lines Mate

Thanks kris, do the fishermen not get funny parking in the boat park? I remember a few years ago people were getting tyres let down when parking there. Thanks for the info I will give it some consideration. 👍

@@KayakFishingCentral we park there when we go out and ain't had any probs. . Mind you I've seen a few idiots park in front of the slipways! But it's mostly tourists and the like. When you have racks on your car everyone knows you're using it to launch 👍

Nicely done Carl. I think you put back more weight in fish than I've caught all year, then there was your keepers. Great too see you catching well, you've earned it. Must be great to catch on home made lures as well, bet they're selling like hot cakes, well maybe ice creams in this weather! 😎

Thanks Lee, I had a good few hours afloat and a few fish as well. Nice to catch on home made lures, that was a test day for the golden jigs and they worked really well, but don’t tell everybody as they will want some. 😉

What a nice fishing session , well done, you do put out some great vids. Im feathering off the rocks at Filey for mackerel tommorrow (Sun 14th) but hope to catch other species. Its nice to see the variety in the bay though.

Thanks for the nice comments much appreciated. You should get a nice variety of species, probably a lot of pollock and coal fish besides mackerel. Good luck tomorrow 👍🎣

Really enjoying your content videos and I'm excited by the idea of Kayak fishing. I live in Huddersfield so Filey Brigg would be a good spot for me. My question having looked at all sorts of gear available is what you would suggest I need in terms of clothing and waterproofs/waders etc. Do you have any recommendations as what would be the basic and necessary clothing?
@KayakFishingCentral Жыл бұрын
Hi mate, the basic clothing that I would use is a wetsuit for summer fishing, even though we might just have a few good days of warm weather the sea can be cold. If you end up in the water and separated from the kayak even for an hour or so the cold will get you so even a basic wetsuit will give you some form of thermal protection. Personally for all year round fishing a drysuit is the way to go, summer t shirt and shorts underneath and winter some good thermal socks and a tracksuit or sweatshirt type of thing. Waiters are a definite no no. Most people opt for a drysuit, i very rarely use my wetsuit. Hope this helps. If you are new to kayak sea fishing Filey brigg is not the place to start out, in the bay is ok but be wary if you go round the brigg end as the tides run fast when it floods or ebbs. Hope this helps 👍🎣

Looks like you had a great session. Out of curiosity, if you didn't use your fish finder how easy would it be to catch fish?
@KayakFishingCentral Жыл бұрын
Hi, you can still find fish without a fish finder, it’s just easier with one. If you watch my last two videos that I put out my fish finder decided to pack up on me so I was basically fishing blind. I still managed to catch some fish though. 👍🎣

@kirkharrison6101 not a good forecast for fishing Filey from a kayak this weekend,it needs a good few days of settled weather and light winds plus building tides will make it extremely difficult for fishing even if you do manage to get around Filey brigg. 👍🎣

Cool video, always at Filey got a caravan there so was thinking of starting kayak fishing, what type do you use and how stable are they 🤔
@KayakFishingCentral2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, I use a wilderness kayak but there are lots of other makes out there like ocean kayak, Viking kayaks and hobbie kayaks. Mine is a sit on top opposed to the sit in type. If you are thinking of sea fishing then I would recommend a kayak of over 12ft in length as they will handle the waves better, and look for a kayak with plenty of storage so you can tidy your gear away when you are paddling to and from your fishing area. A kayak will a rudder is an advantage but is not essential. Do your homework when buying a kayak and don’t buy a cheap brand like the sell on eBay as they are often not fit for purpose. Join a kayak angling group on Facebook and see what they are paddling and also find out about rigging a fishing kayak. Have a look at east coast kayak anglers on FB maybe get some info from there. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍

is it safe to go out on your own? Have a kayak, Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120, i would love to even get one fish, never caught on the brigg, so many angry Russians last time i went, bit uncomfortable, as they were stopping other anglers from fishing and shouting at some locals.
@KayakFishingCentral2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, I often go out on my own but only because because I know when it’s safe to do so. The rule for kayak fishing the brigg is small tides ( definitely not this weekend) and light winds. Never try go around the brigg when the tide is ebbing unless it’s a very small tide because the over falls from the outgoing tide can easily swamp the kayak, not a good place to be. To be honest I haven’t fished the brigg much this year as the weather hasn’t been that great especially at the weekends when I get time off, but I always love fishing that area. I used to fish brigg from my tarpon 120, great kayaks and could handle anything the waves threw at it. It’s a pitty that people were stopping you from fishing as it’s a great venue and plenty of room for all to fish. Plenty of kayak anglers fish that area, so it might be worth having a look on east coast kayak anglers on FB and see if anyone is heading out that way, maybe join them for some company. 👍🎣
