I loved how she tried to leave at the end but couldn’t find the imaginary door. Iconic.

I can think of worse things than being locked up in an attic with Parker Posey... and Muffin :)

@@jamesanthony8438 That's being locked up with Parker Posey's Muffin, right?

Best thing about this movie for me was how uncritical Corky was everyone's performance both in the auditions and rehearsals. Someone could walk in to the audition and start flossing their teeth and he wouldn't judge them. He's like the anti-Simon Cowell

that’s why he never got done sh*t!😂😂😂

Parker at her (demented) best - just brilliant. I love the whole movie but this and "This Bulging River" form the deleted scenes may be my favorite two scenes.

Why was this cut from the movie? If it had been left in, it would have been of one of the funniest scenes in it!

I know. She's so talented. It's sad that any scenes were deleted.

It was either use this or the Teacher's Pet song...I think he picked the wrong one, too. ;)

Length and tone. Libbie May has a sunnier personality in the rest of the movie. Though she's clearly working here from V.C. Andrews novels rather than personal experience, it makes you wonder if her life might be about something nastier than Dairy Queen Blizzards. It's funnier than the movie, but only as a standalone piece.

I thought "waiting for Guffman" sucked. I remember anxiously awaiting it's debut bc of HOW MUCH I LOVED Best in Show & was so disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high. I'd watch it again tho ~ just to watch Parker Posey! Love her! Maybe if they'd have left this scene in the movie it'd have been better.

Posey, meanwhile, called Guest from New York and told him she had an idea for her audition. “She sent me this two-page, single-space monologue that she wrote, asked if she could do it in addition to singing ‘Teacher’s Pet,’” Guest recalled in DVD commentary. “It’s one of the most extraordinarily bizarre scenes. For a while I had it in the movie instead of the song. I fell in love with how crazy it was.”
