Never understood why people rate Scholes over Gerrard. Gerrard is a far more complete footballer than Scholes, for starters.. Scholes can’t even tackle, he also never scored the amount of goals that Gerrard could and he never scored in the big moments the way Gerrard used to. Scholes never used to carry a team on his back the way Gerrard had to for his entire career, Gerrard also has far better leadership skills, they both have the same range of passing, they both have the same rocket shot on them but defensively Gerrard is on a whole different level to Scholes in that regard. The only thing Scholes has over Gerrard is trophies but that’s a TEAM achievement and not individual. Gerrard also kept Scholes out of the England team as well.
