On universal income. It’s a non-starter. Doesn’t make it easier to not worry about not needing to pay rent or buy food, as now those things will just become more expensive. Doesn’t work. Lovely idea. Doesn’t work.

@sneakertsar how about an excel spreadsheet or a basic economics course before commenting . It'd supply and demand the supply becomes more expensive as more people can now buy it, and the curr3ncy is inflated even more rapidly ( literally every paycheck would spike it ) .

@@sneakertsar a test isn’t required. Simple economics. Increase the demand when supply remains the same then price rises. What you really need to do is raise supply higher than demand so that property prices drop. But developers won’t let that happen because it means less profit. So you need smaller developers to be able to compete underneath the giant ones. This is the problem we are having here in U.K., specifically England. Target of the government is 300,000 homes per year, they hit 200,000, but we had a NET of 700,000 immigrants last year alone, and it’s increasing. Since the immigration boom at the start of the millennium. You compare the graph of Immigration and house prices since then they are same but the price is slightly delayed which is normal. If you really want to help the poor. Make more housing, that lowers rent, have more producers of food than corporations controlling prices and produce more, that lowers the cost for food, make more jobs than there are people, that raises wage, although raising wage isn’t strictly necessary if you can make things cheaper. If you just artificially raise wage (which essentially all UBI and minimum wage is, it just makes everything more expensive as youve kept the supply the same but increased the demand.
