When you follow the race so closely on the tracker, and see it all explained in understandable terms, it's appreciated 👍. Great job Niall and team. C'mon Malizia! Let's get this leg won.

12000 nautical miles and the two lead boats are virtually match racing. Thank you ocean race for your excellent app. The hourly updates and squid by De-ice has us sailors trying to guess the course changes.

They both deserve it but I feel team Melitzia has had the most fun.

Great, great job. So well done how you manage to make us be in this race, in these boats. This is 2023 way of communicating. I'm blown away how humanity can evolve..... and it is not finish. It will never stop .....

This race is phantastic entertainment and completely stunning. Thanks to each single team for this extraordinary, outstanding performance. But thanks also to Niall for the excellent, entertaining, informative and symphatic presentation. I watch every single day.

The epitome of sportsmanship displayed with the two lead boats in sight of each trading conversation but neither losing sight of the fact that this is still “race on” and any mistake made will cost you the final result. Maintaining this focus is essential to the end which is tiring on all crews and our thoughts are with you over the last miles and hours to run. Stay safe and take care😊😊

It appears that the weather will favor Team Malizia in the final stretch to Itajai, and it remains to be seen if the professional atmosphere on Holcim will overcome that advantage. Uplifting - the comraderie that came through the channel as Boris and Kevin chatted in view of each other across the waves.

What a nail biter! This last low may last long enough for Malizia's design to win the day.

Hard to fathom why safety straps aren’t used on the bunks… it’s a simple solution that costs little, easy to implement and has the potential to prevent injury and worse. I have used them on warships and submarines… it makes it much easier to relax in very rough conditions knowing your not going to be launched out of your bunk…
@scottmeredith3359 Жыл бұрын
I suspect there’s probably a reason, but since they haven’t explicitly told us why they don’t have them I guess we have to just assume it never occurred to them lol
@thang.7752 Жыл бұрын
I think slamming into tho waves you probably don’t wanna be strapped in.
@AndyUK-Corrival Жыл бұрын
I agree, I’ve raced on boats using straps and also one with a zipped bag, you just have to be sure you can get out of your bunk quickly in the event of an emergency. Andy UK

@@AndyUK-Corrival We had straps akin to seatbelts at thigh and chest level, simple to use and release yourself from quickly.

I totally agree with safety straps, understand it's very difficult to ware helmet and continues for more than one month , if this protect the crew then shouldn't take the risks

So much money and a specialist onboard involved and still not able to produce a good little film. When sailors made their own videos at least we were spared the ridiculous dramatic music and the "red bull action" style, not even mentioning the ugly gingles, ugly set, ugly etc.
