Thanks, for the collage.There are so many lyrics it is the best to read them as they are sung. Thanks also to Matt, Jon, and Shawn for this album. The greatest thanks go to Jesus for providing the only way across the abyss and then showing us who we really are and then changing us to be like him. A great story with an even better ending for those who put their trust in God!

This song is very meaningful, tells a great story, and is such a musical masterpiece! Here are some of my interpretations of some parts of the song that I want to add. The man enters the Hall of Mirrors where he feels joy. After that he is cast out in the cold dark rain. The Hall of Mirrors represents sin which are later called as the Mirrors of Lies. The stranger and the man stands in front of a mirror where the man previously seen an abomination of himself. The abomination that was shown earlier was actually the sinful man. When the man and stranger stood side by side in front of the mirror, only the stranger's image was shown. That's because the mirror is actually the Mirror of Truth! Jesus is the stranger and He is the Truth! This 22 minute song is by far the most meaningful and most beautiful song I have ever listened to. This comment might not be read by others but I just wanted to write it! If you're reading this, I hope you have a wonderful day and carry on with the Lord!

this is a life changing song. This is Gods word spoken through a melody, please send this to all people that are lost and are filled with pain from toe to head. lead them to jezus, for he alone can wash a away your sin and recover you from the deepest pains. he can ressurect your dead self en bring your newly born self to live. he is the giver of live, not the bringer of pain. he is justice, he is love, not evil, he is pure love and good amen

Wow brother well spoken this song has made me closer to GOD! As the song says "staring at the one who made me whole!" And may the lord bless you! =D

Bless you to brother! It fills me with joy that you came closer to God! And yet God is always closest to us, for he is INSIDE our soul! until i realised this i realised what power is inside of me and all other cristians! a power unimaginable. a love uncontainable. Brother, i rejoice for the things that God will do you and has done in your life and i pray that you and all christians mat now his/her true self in christ and most important experience his love and inner/outer healings. the closer we come to jesus, the closer we come to ourself, the better we get to know God, the better we know our selfs, for he is our true shepperd. the one and only. we are unique! blessing! and may you rejoice in the Lord and exprience peace trough his love!

The song "I AM' is the best song I have ever heard and this one being pert near tied with it. To me "I AM' ain't a song to sing along to like any other song. The detail given in the lyrics, which can never be exhausted anyhow, revealed in the Bible that describes Yahweh makes me want to just listen to God being honored and praised as only He deserves.

Mirror of Souls is better IMO. Epic + dynamic story, longer, various parts. I AM lacks that, it is just some phrases and definitions about god

Great video. The song, lyrics, and collage were awesome. It means a lot to me, because this is almost exactly what I was going through when Christ found me. God opened my eyes in an instant, and I saw myself as He saw me and it broke me. Then I called on Jesus' name and His Blood made me whole and brought me peace. Jesus is my shalom

Me too. If you enjoy this, I think you'll enjoy the bands Demon Hunter, Skillet, Impending Doom, Tiamat, and you might even enjoy Coma White by marilyn Manson (the main riff of that song is very similar to the intro riff of this song)

If I may...Because the song is not about our belief in Him but his belief in us! I never judge an atheist...its hypocritcal to my own PERSONAL Faith....if G-d loves me(and I have done some serious destruction in my time), then he must he love all....And while some do not belive in G-d(and denominational religion has really embelllished this attitude sadly), I would say to know this,dwell on it...that G-d always believes in you...even when no one else does...he did.....and still does.... and he waits......!!!!
@sora098387 жыл бұрын
+crufflerrick: i agree with you that this song is about the faithfulness of Christ to his people but one thing i think you are forgetting is that this song is also about conversion. at the beginning of the song he was a non-believer and once he was shown his own sin (through the mirror of soul's) and through conviction, he was able to come to faith and be saved and be set free from the curse of sin
@crufflerrick7 жыл бұрын
Yes he awakened to his sin and need for Christ yet...The word says He loved us first and yet while we were sinners he died for us! See almost every "atheist I've worked with closely ,albeit only a handful...most are not opposed to G-d, in the world there are many "Gods" ...but it is in as much as they think of a divine All Father....in that he just doesn't care anymore.... This comes from a lack of understanding and revelation of whom Christ is, to each experience in a personal 1-1 relationship....the denominational churches and self seeking players have ruined that image for many....and I hope for a "mirror" indeed for all to see whom he is truly!

Stupid question. Does your wife like (or at the very least) appreciate heavy metal?
@OleT96710 жыл бұрын
fooser77 Well. I think i will categorize this as prog.metal, not heavy metal. But even so; the answer is no. ;-) But any way. She has finale seen it now.

OleT967 Then you have answered your own question. I majored in communication, on top of military combat comm/intel. If you mean to communicate effectively, then you must use an effective medium. In the case of music, it must be in the form/manner the receiver is going to at the very least appreciate and listen to. Otherwise is it a foreign language to them. It may as well be pure white noise. In human relationships, compatibility of interests (likes vs. dislikes) is paramount. Watch "Metal Evolution" by Sam Dunn. In terms of "metal" the heavy is implied. Lars Ulrich has once termed his music as simply "heavy" music. Again, the "metal" implied. I'm also a trained musician in multi instruments with music theory. Progressive metal is simply [heavy] metal with progressive elements within. In fact, in prog-metal, especially prog-power-metal, we have some of the most heaviest music imagined. To be fair, "metal" was originally a punk term. Black Sabbath was not even called metal in those days. And, I'm from those days. When bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden came on the scene, "metal" was borrowed from the punk genre. But as Blackie Lawless (W.A.S.P.) says, everyone "borrows" from everyone ..

fooser77 Nice job on the "digital Mother-/Fathersday cards" I hear ya, and i dont disagree. But we are allso able to lern to enjoy new generes. I belive you can appreciate new forms for music if you lern to understand them. This was my attempt to make my wife understand this song, and hopfully the genere. But it failed any way. She has allso lerned to understand new generes of music. She is now in to salsa, reggaeton, kesumba, bachata and generes like that. So she tries to win me over, and I try to win her ;-)

A very well rendered video. I hate words like 'rendered'. They are stale and this video isn't stale at all but I'm trying to be objective. I found the collage enhanced the experience, though. The amazing thing about this 22 minute song is that it is never overwrought. Actually, it is quite efficient at communicating chapter and verse of the journey contained. That's more than a little amazing as Dream Theater (who are an obvious influence) have been known to be musically pedantic. All the breaks transition well into the next section and the narrative is never compromised but unnecessary noodling. When you just listen to the song without following the lyrics this is less of the case. However, when the words are made the focal point you realize basically none of this track could be edited down without losing effect. Very well done. Thank you for posting.
