Hey I know this video is several years old and I'm a bit late to the show, but I recently came into ownership a 1987 Chrysler conquest TSi with analog gauges. I found an image of a digital gauge that was in the Starion and instantly fell in love with them and knew I wanted them in my car. Do you know how feasible it is if I get my hands on one of these digital gauges to swap it with the current analog gauges?

I have a rare mint condition digital cluster I may part with. You can contact me through www.starquestparts.net

It can be done. Before I got rid of the car I was preparing to install a digital cluster. The trick is to get the digital harness plug ends with the cluster and splice them into the existing harness, if you don't want to rewire the entire dash with a complete proper harness. The digital cluster also requires a dedicated fuel sending unit, though there was someone from one of the starquest forums who came up with an adapter circuit. I think the cluster also requires a dedicated VSS, but I may be wrong about this.

Can I ask a question? How do you hook up power to test a gauge cluster? Thanks!

Sure, if you have the connector pigtails or wiring harness, then you'll connect the solid blacks to 12v - and the red with black tracer to 12v +. I had to jumper the two pin header underneath the speedometer in order to get the cluster to light up, I really don't know what was supposed to plug into this originally.

Thanks, I dont know much about electrical, so that is why I ask. Do you use one of those kinda large batteries? Thanks again1

@@HiFiasco Not sure if you’ll see this, but I’m working on my cluster out of my 87 Technica and was wondering if you applied 12v to the connector on the speedo or the connector on the fuel gauge board? Also that 2-pin connector you weren’t sure about didn’t have anything connected to it on mine either and it’s the factory unit in my car
