10 BEST THINGS TO DO IN TAIPEI | FIRST TIME IN TAIPEI TAIWAN

I was there last week for 5 days. I have been in Asia since August 1st and so far Taiwan is my favorite country. It was the first country that I decided to skip out on doing most of the tourist-y stuff and just enjoy the country. Probably the best way I traveled and I recommend it. I just walked around the city, went to different parts (Tamsui was amazing), and talked to people and it felt really relaxing. Taiwan is an amazing country, please go there! Respect to Taiwan, from an American! :)

​@@hmmnothanks5038 Hi, I'm Taiwanese, actually I'm surprised to see myself in this video, when the hosts were introducing the card, I just happened to walk by in front of the temple. I was curious what they were doing, guessed they were introducing the temple, and I happened to be in a good mood that day, so I thought to myself, maybe I can say hi to them and share with them the places I love in Taiwan (which is Yilan, Hualian, Taitung and Tainan), but I didn't do that, because I thought perhaps they already had done the homework, and knew where they wanted to visit, I shouldn't bother them. So perhaps this can be a way to describe how we are(although I wouldn't say I can represent Taiwanese people), in general, we are friendly, curious and also polite in a moderate way. Alright, perhaps my words don't explain enough, so I'll use the words from my foreign friends who had visited my country: people are nice, friendly, polite and respectful, and Taiwan is very safe. Jump back to my opinion again, although there are some trash people in every country, but after having traveled to many countries, I would say, Taiwanese people are really lovely, in general:)

It's spot on when she said Taipei is like Piccadilly circus. I visited UK last year and am now in Taipei, so I can vouch for the similarities. Taiwan's extensive subway and train system is best in class; it's inexpensive and super super clean. It's February now, and the weather is perfect. I am in Taipei and the air is clean. My Hotel is on the 25th floor, and I can see all the way to the blue ocean. I believe Taiwan has upgraded the automobiles & buses to newer and less polluting technology. In the evening, everybody is out and about, both young and old, grabbing a drink or having dinner with family & friends. From what I can tell, it's super safe here. My takeaway - when you have good leadership, moral people with a proper education - things tend to go well for the nation. Cheers!

Longshan temple is almost 300 years old. You can see the arts of temple architecture there. If you have time to visit tamsui Ang Mor castle in Taipei city or An Pin castle in Tainan city, you can see the history of Dutch ruling time in Taiwan. If you like hiking or climbing, Yang-Ming mountain is the most accessible one in Taipei. Jiufen and Tea Pot mountain also very easy to access with fantastic view. Taiwan has 268 mountains which higher than 3000 meters above sea level. It's a paradise for mountain lovers. If you enjoy water activities more, North coast, East Coast, KenTing, Green island, Lanyu island , Penghu and little RyuKyu island willake you happy. They are all good places for snorkeling and diving or even just enjoy the scenery of Pacific Ocean. If you like hot spring, you cannot miss Taiwan. Almost all cities or counties have their own hot spring. Beitou and YangMing mountain in Taipei is the most convenient hot spring. Green island has sea water hot spring for you to soak yourself in a HOT Pacific Ocean and enjoy the sunrise. Tainan has a muddy hot spring to make your skin sparkling. Enjoy the famous food of Taiwan, like boba bubble tea, xiao long bao, beef noodle, night market food. For sure they will amaze you. Except street food, don't forget stir-fried dishes , which is ReChao or Jechao in mandarin. You can taste the most typical Taiwanese dishes there. Of course don't forgot sea food when you come to this island. Go harbours for cheaper and fresher sea food dishes. If you are a vegetarian, the options of vegetarian food in Taiwan will impress you. Most of Taiwanese are belief in buddhism and Taoism and also respect other religions. Advantages of Taiwan : 3C products ,food variety ~fair price,most of Taiwanese are friendly, nice landscape ~easy to reach,and good health care. I love Taiwan. I'll be there right before Chinese New Year and was there last year in November. We went to Xiao Liu Qiu (a very small island off of Taiwan). They had a huge festival going on. It was pretty cool. If you have a chance, check out Hualien, Taidong (Brown's Boulevard, where they have fields of rice paddy fields and you can check out Kavalan whiskey distillery). Pretty awesome. Tainan is the historical city of Taiwan and the old capital. They have an old Dutch fort that they built when they invaded Taiwan. Taiwan has to be my favorite country. It reminds me much of Japan, but much cheaper. I wonder if that curve card is available in the US. I've never heard of it.
