Bill Burr does have a black wife, they have children, and he admits that one of the highlights of his life has been helping his daughters with their hair.. he says he loves every moment he gets to spend with them and that helping them like that was a great father/daughter bonding experience.
@investigator775 ай бұрын
Which is so cool, because he was really afraid to have kids. He thought he might turn out to be like his father, who sounds like he had a LOT of issues. He went to therapy, because he didn't want to be like his dad, so hearing that he has 2 daughters, and he does their ethnic hair? I would love to see that! It's amazing what love can do, and I'm sure he is so much more happy. He can still crush it on stage though!

Bill Burr is up there among the greats. He has so many iconic skits and just as funny now as he was when he still had hair. There are no bad Bill Burr videos, but stick to his stand-ups cuz if you watch something like his late show visits or best podcast rants or interviews, you'll hear the early versions of his jokes, and then later hear it again when you watch the stand-up it ended up in... Which is fine in the other order cuz after hearing the joke in it's proper setup, you can enjoy seeing him work it out and how he plays the other situation, without ruining the punchline for you when you watch the actual polished and thought out stand-up bit.

I have lived near Albany New York. My Mom was born Rochester, NY. We lived in Florida and Tennessee. I have been to Baton Rouge, Atlanta, NYC, Tampa, Memphis, Nashville. I get all this. The funny thing is like what Y'all said.... 25th Street, or 125th Street. Martin Luther King Blvd or Rosa Parks Blvd. The "Hood" is the "Hood"..... I get it. This was too funny. My second wife was born near and lived in Brooklyn. Half Italian and half Irish... (Be careful with the Red headed/ Italian combo....(WOW)... She had moved to Baltimore at 8 year old and later to Arkansas. Settled later in Tennessee. When we stopped through NYC on the way to Upstate, I was a little worried but Tampa, Nashville etc....got me prepared. I was not as worried as some people are. Metro is Metro. 😂... And yes, Nashville (obviously) , Memphis, Chattanooga and Knoxville are all Metro. We have a Metro County (very small.....lol).... that is mainly White South of Nashville but it is Metro because of the Government and Services. A lot of different races and cultures makes things interesting. I like what one of my Bosses told me. He was Black and played football for Memphis. He was a Police Officer for a while. He said it is simple. No matter what City. If an area looks sketchy and you don't have a reason to be there, stay out. Common sense. Which doesn't always kick in til after 20s or 30s. Some people, it never kicks in....lol..

All right, as a very white guy, I’ve loved your Em, Dicky, etc. reactions…But if you guys are going to venture into BB, I’m all in. Hands-down he is the funniest comic alive today. Chapelle is right up there, but I think Chapelle is content with the Chapelle show being his greatest addition to comedy. Bill Burr on the other hand, even though he is a white comedian he is so popular and if you continue watching and reacting to his bits that he is almost “too white” to be canceled. He says the funny shit that everybody wants to say but are too afraid to say. While I do agree that he is the funniest comic alive today today I wonder if his ability to say things that other comics can’t is because his wife is black. That’s not a burn on him obviously, but I also think he uses that as a platform to say things that other comics can’t say but want to… either way hope to see you more Bill Burr….

For context, wards are built specifically for low income, in New York, areas like harlem were originally built for just regular housing, and newyork uses programs to bring down the price... They also have "wards" but they are called projects, and those are kinda obvious when you see them, like you can tell how "efficiently" they are built. Which is weird cuz you live in an apartment building where the floor tile is fucked up and the paint is obviously chipped and then repainted many many times, but the tile is the small intricate design type, and all the trim and stair rail is fancy molding but with many layers of paint, and outside the door you might even have a victorian style fancy thing above the door... It's weird to ma as someone who, even while poor, always lived in a stand alone building that was built for the people who lived there recently, instead of it being a somewhat rich area that became poor over the last 200 years.

Also, at that time Burr was hanging out with Patrice O'Neal and Kevin Hart and they were great friends coming up. A lot of history in this clip. I think when Burr is talking about getting roasted by his black friends about clothes he's talking about Kevin Hart and Patrice O'Neal. 19th century neighborhoods but with specific political representation from each ward. Houston was divided into four when it was founded and then 2 more were added with growth. It was meant to allow direct representation for the ward’s residences’, but only white men were able to participate at the time. Corruption caused Houston to abolish the wards but due to the culture significance, we still refer to those locations in Houston as First through Sixth Ward(s).
