Having been on a GLP1Journey for the last 18 months, this is the best advice! Weight loss isn't a sprint race more a gentle marathon. My additional tip is go low and slow with the medication (less side effects).

Superb advice! Slow and steady wins the race 😉

Good advice. I’m doing mine extremely slow too, as I’m planning to do this for the very long-term to change my lifestyle for GOOD. 😊

It's been almost two years (21 months). Lost 75% of the weight I wanted to lose. Not moving much but also not panicking. I wonder if my body is already at the smallest or would let me

This feels validating! I’ve been doing all of these things and my weight loss has been slow but consistent. I’m tired of yoyoing, I want to develop long-term sustainable habits!

I’ve been on ozempic since May. Down 40 lbs…about 2-3 weeks ago I noticed my body is sore like achy. I have lost over 100 lbs and never felt this discomfort. I use to workout regularly but now I haven’t been consistent and realized it’s the ozempic, or the lack of my exercise and protein intake😢I just started increasing protein and exercise. I’ve considered vlogging it as well. Thank you for confirming my thoughts

My PCP was hesitant to give me Ozempic and I have a follow up with him at the 5 week mark. I lose weight slowly. I haven’t gained anything, but I haven’t lost. On week 2 he asked if I already lost weight and he said to consider stopping it! What?! I’m already eating healthier and I don’t have anymore food noise. I hope he’ll be more open minded at my next appointment 😢😢😢

Got a sidenote Q for ya, Dr Dan. 🤔 There was a Kevin Hall study I believe, on the body’s adaptation to weight-loss. It showed that *for every 1 kilo of weight-loss,* the body increases hunger by about 100 calories/day, and slows down metabolism by about 20-50 cals/day. My Q is, is that LINEAR? IOW, if you lose say 50 kilos, are you then facing 50 TIMES as much metabolic adaptation… aka, 5000 cals/day of increased hunger, plus metabolism slowed by 1000-2500 cals/day. Because, if so… that is basically TERRIFYING. 😳 My layman’s educated guess is that the response must begin to level off a bit with increasing weight-loss, but any insights you can provide are much appreciated. 🙏

Great question! Your assessment I would argue is correct. What we know is that the more you lose the more adaptation that can occur and you will become progressively hungrier. However, is it linear? Up to a point sure, and for everyone it will be different as to how much occurs. However, eventually it would likely level off and you'll just be hungry. Difference between really, really hungry and really, really, really hungry. At some point someone subjectively won't know the difference. What I would say is more the opposite - if you start increase your calorie intake and are gaining weight, the longer you have been at the lower weight, eating sub maintenance level of calories the longer it is going to take before you correct the adaptations and the associated hunger.

Thank you for the great video. Other than hydration, any other benefit of water intake for weight loss? I see this being recommended for weight loss a lot but don’t see how it would help
@theofficialdrdan4 күн бұрын
Water is great for supporting digestion, reducing appetite (for some), eliminating toxins, reducing water retention (weird, I know), etc. It's also a great substitute for higher calorie beverages!
