A little over a near approaching year ago 2024 , I got to see Vince Gill. Though he wasn't the main front man artist , he was playing a supporting side man for some California band known as The Eagles , it was a highlight of my being a fan of music is what I bought that nosebleed seat to see and hear . Though this presentation of Larry's Country diner is prerecorded many years ago this has got to be one of the finest I have ever seen.

I’ll be 81 in February and it’s good to hear these old songs, especially when they’re covered by Vince Gill. I don’t know much about steel guitarists but Paul Franklin must be one of the best. One of my favorites, Together Again, was performed beautifully but I don’t think Buck Owens was mentioned and given credit for his big hit.

Yes, many steel players use effects : the pioneer was Freddy Roulette in Chicago. And so do many sacred steel players, like Aubrey Ghent, Campbell Bros, Robert Randolph... They use delay, chorus, Tremolo, Overdrive pedals, and more.
