My girlfriend was dying from cervical cancer and I went on a leave from work to take care of her so that she wouldn’t have to die alone! The day that she passed away I sang this song to her before running an errand. I was gone for an hour and when I returned she was already gone. I was so upset that I wasn’t there for her when she transitioned. I blamed myself for so many months for running that errand! Now I see that it was probably easier for her to leave without me there!!
