In this episode I will show you how to fit 32" tall tires on the front of you're XJ. Tune in next week when we'll be moving on to rear.

I did the tires first (31's) and drove it a little. Was very easy to bang new tires into the body, so I decided early to commit to a lift. I did a proper 3" lift (new coils and spring packs including new shocks all round) and am happy with that decision. It did involve some minor complications, but the only thing left is extended brake lines. Also don't want to cut my fenders or quarter panels. Trying to keep it original.

A good looking all original build is nice. I like the look you've got on your jeep. The all stock with lift and tires always will look clean to me.

Nice. I'm trying to do the same but 32s on 3 inch lift. Hopefully I have enough left over for regear and lockers.

I love people setting up their jeeps how they want to but my personal opinion is that this jeep will have almost zero articulation and that kind of kills the entire point of larger tires. Nice cruiser though. keep doing you. subscribed
@TheOffRoadCorner4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for subscribing. I agree with you 100%. I had about 1” of up travel on this setup so taking it off road was out of the question. Really what I wanted to do with this video was to show people it can be done. Also I wanted open up the wheel well for future upgrades. I lived the low life for about 2 weeks before I had enough and lifted the jeep 3”. It’s so much better now haha

Some of us are just looking for ground clearance under the axle to start. Flex will come later, especially with a droop setup. Keeps the center of gravity down and flex up. I want to go with at least a 3.5 lift but want to go with a 35" to compete with my buddies TJ with a 4.5 and 36's

So my tires are not even that big they are 225 70r 16 but my tires rub on that arm does yours do the same
@TheOffRoadCorner4 жыл бұрын
My tires don't rub the front control arms. The front tires will rub on the front control arms if the wheels you are running have too much backspacing. the Tactik wheels I'm running have 4" of backspacing opposed to stock wheels which are 5.25". The wider the tire gets from stock the less backspacing you want.

Dogs are the BEST. Mine always follows me to the garage and sits nearby when immworking on my XJ. I have to keep the garage door closed. Hes a husky and will start running down the road with the cars. Im getting 32s as well. Looks great

Thank you for the video, definitely taking notes. Can't wait to dig into my 90 2dr! I've seen 33's being a good size for a 3.5 lift but want to go with a 35. Definitely going to be some "engineering" lol
@TheOffRoadCorner4 жыл бұрын
No problem man! Thanks for watching. HAHA some engineering will be needed for sure. I'm sure 3.5" lift and 35's it can be done though.

Those wheels are TACTIK Circle 8 Classic Wheel in a 15 x 8 with 4 inch backspacing. I got from quadratec.com. The link below is to the exact ones I bought. The link says for a YJ & TJ but the Cherokee shares the same bolt pattern as the wranglers. www.quadratec.com/p/tactik/circle-8-classic-classic-wheel-wrangler-yj-tj
@paulstandaert57093 жыл бұрын
Do you know what the offset of these wheels are? I am not sure of how much clearance there was by the inside tire sidewall, but it looked like a different offset would have brought them in just enough to clear things a bit better where things were being cut and massaged.
@TheOffRoadCorner3 жыл бұрын
The wheels are a 15x8 with a 4” backspacing.
@RandomStuffGarage6193 жыл бұрын
Yup any less backspace and you hit the lower control arms at full crank. This is the EXACT wheel/tire size I intend to run on mine. Maybe a 3 inch lift. Also I will regear and add lockers.

rin 15x8 or 15x10 ? for 33s ? :O

Will not the tire rub the body while driving and with some heavy cargo?
@TheOffRoadCorner5 жыл бұрын
Nucleus without extending the bump stops in the rear it will rub. I’m running the Crown Automotive 4.1" Rear bumpstops bolted to a 1.5” square tube I welded in place on the frame rail.

The Off Road Corner oh ok, thanks I am thinking about getting 32s for mine aswell

Would I need to throw bump stops on if I’m running a 3.5” RE lift? I want the same tire set up. Also are they pro comp wheels? What is the dimensions?
@TheOffRoadCorner4 жыл бұрын
@@lifeofky4037 Yes you will need bump stops if you plan on doing any serious off roading. Anytime you increase the tire's height, you'll need to extend the bump stops to keep the tire from rubbing the fender. The wheel I'm running are Tactik Soft 8 Wheels. they are a 15X8 wheel with a 4 inch backspacing. I'll leave you some links to the bump stops I used and a link to my wheels. Nice video, I have 31s on my XJ stock, It only rubbed a little bit on the front when you turned full, but I cut the fenders some cause the trails are rough here so needed the up travel to. Just waiting to get a 4.5 inch lift this summer and 33s, I want a decent amount of travel still. I wanted a 6 1/2 inch with 35s but gets pricy 😂

Most people would at this point. The reason I didn't at this point was to show it is possible and to massage the wheel wells for future upgrades. Some folks may like to live the "lowlife" but to me riding in a jeep with only 2 inches of up travel sucks. I ended up lifting the Cherokee 3 inches in a later video.

Watching this because I want to stuff 35's with a 3.5 lift. LCG is the way to go. Everyone has a different style and wheeling terrain
@noahbones12214 жыл бұрын
Jack Bower Ok, but if your gonna try and do that, just cut the fenders. No need to mess around with all this fender nonsense, at that point, cutting and folding looks better than trying to tuck shit under a fucked up fender flare. When it comes to fitting tires on a jeep, The poor way is to trim, the rich way is to lift. in some cases, doing both can mean a really capable rig. but the whole “lets fit 32s with no lift and keep the fenders” is absolutely a waste of time.
@TheOffRoadCorner4 жыл бұрын
@@jackbower8671thats very true. The jeep you build is for the terrain you wheel.
