As much as i love racing myself, love watching you guys. The best thing was that hug billy gave you. Being a father myself. I know that was a special moment of gratitude. God bless.

Sorry,, @9:21 I got choked up. Bet I'm not the only ol guy with a herd a kids (5 'n one adopted of 'em) and perhaps grandkids (I have 9) who struggled to hold back tears. That hug, Billy saying "Thanks Dad" only a Dad and his child understands what it's worth. No money can buy that, only LOVE. That was awesome, absolutely awesome.

Strange coincidence, We just had one of those "Fine, will do it your way. But its all on you, And when it doesn't work. Its all on YOUR BABY. And Don't come crying to DAD to fix it or pay for another. Because YOUR idea didn't work" Its painful to watch them not listen to a lesson that we had to pay for twice ourselves. Yet, it seems to be the only way they are going to learn. All we can do is make try to make sure they don't get physical injured in the learning process. Great video on a COLD AF snowy night in early February. I nearly forgot what the green trees looked like, LOL.

Hell of story so far.. But out of all that the thing that I liked the most was when Billy hugged your neck after you got his engine put in and running.. I've got two boys and the youngest is a girl.. Call me soft or sentimental but that stuff pulls my heart strings.. Money cant buy that .
@gregsimon90613 жыл бұрын
Sometimes life's lessons are costly, and we ask ours as parents, why didn't they just listen to me? I'm sure my father asked himself this many times with 5 kids. But in the end those lessons can be quite valuable, look what you came on with in the long run and who knows, without blowing up the engine, you might not have gotten there as quickly as you did. It's one of those what if moments. I'm sure Billy felt really bad, he knows deep down inside that you were right and he let you down, some times it sucks being right, but kids have to be able to make their own decisions that can result in less than desirable outcomes, but its definitely a teaching moment. As a father you can be right and wrong at the same time, you want to say, see I told you so, but pointing out the obvious can some times devalue the teaching moment, I too was a very stubborn kids that didn't appreciate the value of the wisdom that is offered to us, but as I have gotten older, hopefully I have gotten wiser. You are an awesome father and are definitely a wise man that only wants the best for his family, stand tall, you have so much to be proud of.
