You are legend mate. Im planning to start from Cape ringa in mid November does it goos time ? And second question is i think i will the the same route you did in the Northern islands and in the Southern Island follow toward churcurch and East coast and my way back up North from Bluff hitchhiking on Highway 6 up to Nelson. Do you think it's a better idea ?

Next time your in the upper west south island you need to check out the "old ghost road" in sedonville. World class cycling trail. Quite technical in parts but absolutely stunning

watching your documentary the second time now. Your filming and explaining is so well done. So nice to come with you on that journey. Thanks for it! I have travelled both island in 2006, the country, the nature is magical. I would love to do the same you did - by bicycle. All the best to you, Mr. Bikepacker ;)

Thanks 🙏 Also if you found yourself back in Europe more specifically in France, feel free let me know. Could be interesting to collaborate on a few videos one day ? 😉 For now I'll keep investigating your plethora of videos that talk about folding bikes, keep up the good work. 👍

Excited to get out bikepacking this year. Additionally, one thing I'm trying to pioneer on my channel is 'skatepacking', which is backpacking on an electric skateboard instead of a bike

😍I loved watching your Oz and NZ journeys. I enjoyed it as much as going to the movies so the least I could do is give you my movie ticket so to speak. Stay motivated...there are lots of folks out there on similar journeys...it can be tiring but it is worth every moment. Onwards 🚴♂️🚀🛣🚀🌍

Is it easy to find place to stay or camp out in New zealand? And How about Australia place to stay?
@TheOneGoodRoad3 жыл бұрын
South Island is easier in general than the North but both are doable for wild camping. Australia u sometimes won't have another option than wild camping, it is naturally part of the outback experience.

Hello! I am considering bikepacking from Auckland to Queenstown. Do you think 20 days is a reasonable amount of time to complete that journey?
@TheOneGoodRoad Жыл бұрын
Calculate the distance add your average kilometres per day and you'll see example: 2,500÷20=125
@jamesscott19352 жыл бұрын
Hey Mate, sorry if you mentioned it but how many KM would you say is manageable per day? Thinking about starting on the North Island in October. Thanks.
@TheOneGoodRoad2 жыл бұрын
Depends on you. You must define your average... 🙂👍🏻(50-100km)

100 kph, is only about 62 mph, which in the states where I live is nothing. And that backpack you wear, isn't it kinda heavy and how does it effect your balance? I would think a set of smell to medium sized panniers on the rear would be better. I now ride a recumbent due to problems with my back, neck and arms. So I cant wear a backpack. Any ways, nice video, stay safe.
@TheOneGoodRoad5 жыл бұрын
The bag isn't too heavy. A recumbent bike is better for body posture.

The One Good Road yeah and the terrain in nz is a bit hiller than most of the USA , 60+ miles of up and down country on a mountain bike is good mate

I went for 5-6 months roughly in NZ and the bike trip was 3 months if I remember correctly.

@@TheOneGoodRoad So that you took for 3 months riding? How far you get in a day? And How bout Australia that you took bike trip,.how long it took?
@TheOneGoodRoad3 жыл бұрын
@@fatimahobordo7968 on average when I would ride maybe 50-100km I had a MTB and wasn't in a rush with my visa. Australia was 2-3 months for the bikepacking then I stayed in Australia for 8-9 months I think.
