Who told you that cacti have negative energy? I think most people in India don't know how to grow cacti properly. They either choose the wrong soil or care for them incorrectly. If you're willing to invest in a rose plant, spending thousands of rupees knowing it has a lifespan of only 4 to 5 years, then why wouldn't you invest in a plant that lasts much longer? Another reason people hesitate to gift cacti is their price-you won't find a well-shaped cactus under Rs 200. Lastly, have you ever seen a 20-year-old spider plant? I haven't seen any houseplants that old, but I've seen 40-year-old Ariocarpus and Astrophytum.
