This song... tells a story. A story of a boy who never got a childhood, who faced the darkness when nobody else would. Someone who had to suffer, alone, and died a hero with acts unknown. This song tells a story of heroes, young and old, who stood up to vanquish evil, time and time again.

@@williambarrantes1674 How the fuck does living as a child for ten years not constitute as a childhood? Just because he went on this grand adventure, that doesn't erase his formative years.
@williambarrantes167410 ай бұрын
@@SpeedoSnipes uh, childhood goes into adulthood my guy. Is he an adult when he leaves? No he’s still a child. Bro still had several years as well as his teen years to grow and experience. He lost those. We dont have an exact age, but he’s supposedly 9 or 10 when he leaves, and when he goes through time he goes forward 7 years. That means he skipped straight to 16 or 17. That means he basically went from a 6th grader to senior year of high school. Is that… not a significant amount of childhood gone? I would say those years are honestly more important and remembered than his younger years. Also, keep in mind he didn’t just skip those years, he had to SAVE THE KINGDOM BY KILLING MONSTERS AND FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE DAILY. So, severe ptsd and mental trauma, as well as physical wounds sustained, and skipping half of your childhood.

If Majora's Mask were ever made into a full movie, I imagine this song coming right before Oath to Order. Link just finished the final temple. The temple took him a full three days, but he has just enough time to make it back to Clock Town to face off with Skull Kid. Then he remembers everyone he had saved, and all of happiness he brought to people in the previous three-day cycles, and is reminded that resetting the clock has undone all of that. So, he decides to go back one last time, and do everything in a single three-day cycle. I imagine much of this song being a montage of him going back through the various dungeons and completing quests all over again. The very end of the song is him racing back to Clock Town at the end of the final day after competing all the quests, for the final showdown with Skull Kid. Not only does the decision to do everything all over again prove that Link really is a true hero, but his ability to do it all in such a short timespan demonstrates just how much stronger he's grown over the course of his adventure.

Interesting question but is it technically possible to complete all the quests in Majoras Mask within a three day cycle? That includes all the dungeons, getting all the Masks, etc. If you cant could you still do all the side quests. Or maybe just all the dungeons?
@rowandoyle75 жыл бұрын
@@stormcutter59 You can definitely do all dungeons, you can't do all masks in one cycle simply because some of the paths are exclusive. If you're interested, the speedrun of Majora's Mask (100%) at AGDQ shows how much can happen in a single cycle.
@beccahawkins19055 жыл бұрын
I picture it this way too. At the 3:15 mark, I picture Link having mounted his horse and riding through the forest toward Clock Town, rousing the curiosity of the woodland creatures as he rides on his way to have a final showdown with the Skull Kid. Then, at 3:55, I picture him reaching the top of a hill at a clearing, and his horse rears up and neighs with lightning in the background before galloping down the hill toward the film’s climax. It would be so cool to see Ember Lab create this scene in a full-length feature film.

How I imagine the progression of a scene accompanying this music in my head: 0:00 Link watches as the sun begins setting on the third day for the last time, sitting next to Epona, mentally preparing himself for his final battle with the Skull Kid, having saved all the giants, gearing himself up for the plan, despite the doubts he's been facing all day. 0:38 Link thinks back when he bid Zelda farewell in Hyrule to go off to find Navi in Termina, knowing that he wasn't just fighting for the healing of Termina, but to get himself back home as well. 1:21 As a rainstorm descends onto the valley, he worries that he won't succeed, and all will fall into darkness, and that he had no power to stop the moon from destroying everything, including him and his hopes of reuniting with Navi and Princess Zelda. He tosses his sword to the ground in fear and dismay. 1:47 As Link is about to give up, Tatl alerts him to look skyward, and he looks up and sees the moon descending menacingly closer to Clock Town, and suddenly he finds his courage again, clenching his fists as the Triforce of Courage glows on his left hand. There is no time, and his compassion for Termina overrides his fear of the odds being against him. A renewed determination courses through him. 2:42 He grabs his sword from off the ground, tightens his belts and buckles the satchel of supplies to the saddle, and he mounts his horse, glaring up at the moon in defiance. 3:15 "Ya!" With a thrust of the reins at the same time the town clocktower sounds, Link takes off on Epona through the trees on his way to Clock Town. Curious woodland creatures come out of their burrows to see what's happening as Link gallops past them. Determined to put a stop to the Skull Kid's impending apocalypse once and for all, he races forward into a clearing and up a hill. 3:55 When he reaches the top of the hill, lightning splits the sky behind them as Epona rears up and neighs, and Link brandishes his sword toward the Clock Tower, hoping the Skull Kid can see it. Townspeople point and shout as Link rushes past them down the hill toward the wall. From a distance, the Skull Kid, from atop the tower, peers down at him and laughs devilishly, commanding with the gesture of his arm a small army of bats to try to stop Link from reaching him. Link manages to slice through them with ease. 5:13 Link reaches the city wall and leaps from Epona's saddle, latching onto some protrusions he could manage to climb to reach the Skull Kid in time. The Skull Kid hurls gusts of air in attempts to knock him back to the ground, but to no avail. 6:06 Link reaches the top of the city wall and gives the Skull Kid a brief determined smile before heading toward the clocktower itself. Townspeople are running in panic to shelter in place, thinking the moon is going to crush them all. ,Soldiers try to stop Link, pleading with him to find a place to duck and cover underground with some of the families. But Link eludes the soldier's grasp and finally makes it to the base of the clocktower. The moon is beginning to cause earthquakes now. 6:34 Link frantically climbs up the clocktower as the Skull Kid screams insults from its peak, telling him he will never make it in time. And even if he could, he wouldn't stop it anyway. But Link continues climbing anyway, and some soldiers begin to look on, dumbfounded at this child going into what seems to all of them to be a pointless confrontation. 7:08 Link makes it to the top, where he sees the Skull Kid floating above him and looking down as the hellish gaping maw of the moon was within mere striking distance. Link stumbles around a bit trying to keep his balance in the midst of the mild earthquakes testing the foundations of the tower, 7:52 "If it's something that can be stopped...then just try and stop it!" This time unafraid, knowing it would finally be a different song he would play, Link takes out his ocarina and puts it to his lips. But a tremor from the earthquakes knocks him over, causing him to drop the ocarina. He scrambles to pick it up from he ground, and after he gets back to his feet, at 8:31, he then puts it to his lips and blows forth a song calling for reinforcements for this time, not retreat. :)

Quite possibly the most chilling, touching, emboldening and awestriking version of the theme of the Legend of Zelda. The piece is true to it's source material, which in turn is deeply true to the deep heart of the Legend: the Solitary Stranger takes up the duty to stand against the darkness; to enter the dark place, to protect the weak and to climb the tower to defeat the laughing man. He has no obligation whatsoever to endanger himself for people who view him only as an outcast and a stranger. But he fights not for his own glory, but for the destruction of evil and the healing of the weary.
