I hate how they chose the words purines and pyrimidines. So a pyrimidine is a single-ringed nitrogenous base... why would you call it a monoridine and a purine a diridine? Pyramid literally always means 3!

I had this same problem, but now I just think of pyramidines as a pyramid with a hexagonal base. And purines in either one of two ways: Pure As Gold where A is adenine G is guanine, and Gold rings marrying two people so two rings. Alternatively, AnGels are pure and have two wings, which rhymes with two rings.
