Why is it that I understand these concepts extremely well while watching these videos, but can't understand it at all when taking tests and exams? I pause the video and solve for the questions and get the same answers once you work through the work, but when I take an actual physics test or exam, it's like there is some new step or variable included and the answer I get comes out wrong.

I want to suggest that you have the same problem that I have. Perhaps you are memorizing, but not developing an in depth understanding of how everything is related to each other. Yes you can solve the equations once you see it solved here. Yes you understand how to manipulate the equations in a way that you have seen manipulated, but when a different perspective is given, you dont yet have the understanding needed to manipulate and solve. I can memorize. But the deeper understanding is where I struggle which is why memorizing type classes are easy, but deeper understanding classes like math, trig, physics, chem, so on, are always very difficult for me. But maybe im wrong about you, but with me, this is surely my problem.

Very nice video, all of them btw! Just a remark on 3:00. The centripetal acceleration is not inversely correlated with the radius right? A=v^2/R , but v is also function of R. When we replace v by omega*R then we get a=omega sq*R…The centripetal acceleration is proportional to the radius. Also, if we take for example a CD disk, the closer you get to the center the acceleration is going down since your tangential speeds is going down..and ultimately the centripetal acceleration is 0 in the center of the disk. If it would be inversely correlated the centripetal acceleration would go to infinite and the further you are from the center eventually the acceleration would go to zero which is not true. Omega is constant and your tangential speed goes up dramatically and also is your centrupetal acceleration. Let’s find out together !

Acceleration is change in velocity and a resultant vector pointing radially to the center between the preceding and the proceeding velocities for some object moving with uniform velocity in a circle. This is called centripetal acceleration and as a result exerted as force radially inward tension in a string, radially inward gravitational pull or a friction on the road.

1:20 was the moment that it hit me. Why constant speed in circular motion has acceleration? Cuz change in direction also implies to acceleration! (the direction of the moving object keeps changing, thus acceleration occurs!) Acceleration = change in velocity over time.

What is the difference of tangen speed, angular speed and linear speed? I often have problems in understanding their meanings and have a hard time comparing them.

linear is the ideal speed that is expected that is if an object is going through a circle sticking to the circle (although it isn't like that) it will be linear. linear is mostly used in 1d motion tangent is how an object rly goes around a circle that is it goes through the tangents angular is the speed that is applied towards the center
