Great help! I use variance at work, but a simplified version of this statistical variance to deal with individual differences in semi trailer weights. Knowing this made understanding the official business stat variances easy, however, jumping into business stat from only knowing a single application of workplace variance was a bit daunting. This video made it easy to understand the calculations and the wild equations!

By looking at the variance value of 2.5 vs 10 I would have expected, only as gut feeling, the second set to be way more spread than the first set, like 4 times as much right? But by looking at the set I don't see that much difference between the two? So I suppose the measure is very sensitive?
