Man that is one seriously clean engine for over 200k!! I'd be ok with dropping my lunch sammy on it and still eat it! People do not understand how regular oil changes and air filter changes are for engine health. I change the oil in my 2.5 every 3k (conventional) and air filter every 6 months ( about 9 to 12k miles). Just FYI on valve covers - There is a very common issue with aftermarket valve covers for the 2.5l, they don't seal well, and some have clearance issues where valvetrain components will actually contact the plastic inner shield of the valve cover. Only use OEM Nissan valve covers! If your valve cover is not sealing well the 2.5 will begin to ingest oil. That begins to foul plugs, contaminate/stick piston rings with burnt oil sludge, and also pollute the catalytic converter causing emission issues. How do you know if your losing oil? Check the dipstick a few times between oil changes. Oil consumption is not normal for the 2.5, I dont care what you read. If the 2.5 is drinking any oil there is a problem with the PCV, valve cover, or the engine (but rarely). Look for leaks around the cover occasionally and if you see oil, deal with it right away. Pull the PCV hose and if it is dripping oil, you have a valve cover leak. If your 2.5 is drinking oil and its not obvious, pull the spark coils and see if the wells have oil in them, thats a typical failure point. Oil consumption will lead to a damaged engine or emission system. If you have a valve cover oil leak, deal with it right away and only use OEM valve covers. Gret video!

Definitely agree man! Thats exactly why I went with the OE Nissan Cover. And I agree, these 2.5s really aren’t oil burners like their bigger VQ brother.

It costs about $199.99 and you are guaranteed they will use Nissan OEM CVT fluid. I trust a local quick oil change place Ive been going to for 20 years now, but I would NEVER allow them to touch the CVT. Even buying the fluid aftermarket will cost some 80 to 100, so the dealer only gets 100 which is fair for the labor and disposal.

Not quite sure what you’re asking here. Like you literally got debris under the gasket itself? Because if that’s the case, then its not gonna seal correctly. Or did you get debris in the head itself because it was opened & exposed from cover being off?

What should I do if there is oil in the cylinders?
@TheOriginalBeeCee7 ай бұрын
You want to get out as much possible, but you don’t have to kill yourself doing it. Roll shop towels up into roughly the size of the cylinder holes and dab them in there. Once you have all you can get out from dabbing, put a new clean one rolled up in and spin it around in there with some pressure. After that, if you have air or an air compressor can, you can put air straw in cylinder with a shop towel around it, and blow out anything remaining. Then you can pull plug. I would replace the spark plugs while you’re already in there as well, as they will need it from the oil exposure.

Do you have a video on the infamous power steering noise when you turn the wheel left or right and it goes away when the wheel is straight they say this is normal but I don’t believe so
@TheOriginalBeeCee9 ай бұрын
Surprisingly it actually is normal. As long we aren’t talking about some crazy whining..that would more than likely be from low fluid. The power steering in the cars is electric. So what you’re hearing is actually the “zinging” from the electric motor. This car was purchased brand new in 2014 by my GF, and it made that noise since the day she brought it home.
@mack6069 ай бұрын
@@TheOriginalBeeCee I never heard it until a few weeks ago. I did a power steering flush and replaced it with the proper fluid and level is on point and that’s when I noticed the sound that everyone is talking about and says that is normal I’m thinking it might be air in the line somewhere
@TheOriginalBeeCee9 ай бұрын
Ahh got ya. Maybe you do have a slight whine or something then. If it only appeared after you messed with the fluid, then i would tend to agree with you and think there might be possibly air in system. I would double check fluid level…if level is good….take PS Res. Cap off, and turn the wheel slowly all the way one way & let it sit for 3 seconds, then turn it the other way and let it sit for 3 seconds, and keep repeating that. It should help bump out any air in the system and help “bleed” it.

And they still have the 9444 Anchor mount listed for the 2016, which is the same part # for the 2014. So they still have that mount as applicable to your car…they just also have the black style ones in addition listed for your year as well (the out of stock ones). Just from experience and considering Rockauto lists the 9444 for the 2016, I see no reason why it wouldn’t work in my opinion.

Yes I have a 17 Altima bought from a rental car company took to dealer to have a transmission service done at 68000 miles problem I'm having is that if the temperature is 25 or less car has to warm up for 20 minutes if not car just revs up and slips summer time it's fine can't figure it out

That’s a new one on me man. But out of curiosity, were you having this problem prior to the dealer transmission service @ 68k, or just after?
@jeffreycloonan8539 Жыл бұрын
@@TheOriginalBeeCee no happened month after I got it when it was 20 degrees out car juy revved up wouldn't go over 30 did it once first year did it 3 time's last dealership did a spill and fill only replacing 4 quarts of fluid still doing it so I just let idle for 20 minutes if it's pretty cold did buy the filters for it and gasket going to do a complete change when weather warms up got all the parts that you had on your link

@@jeffreycloonan8539 got ya. very interesting man. I would maybe see if you can pull any trouble codes from the transmission module. Some decent scanners & OBDII Bluetooth Dongles/App can read transmission trouble codes. Some can also read live data too. Might be worth looking into it, might just reveal an underlying issue that you weren’t aware of.

I just replaced the Hydraulic mount and I set the torque for the mounting bracket nut to hold it in at 76 ft pounds and it broke off. Can't find another stud anywhere.

Thats about more on par with most vehicles lifespan of a cover gasket. I was surprised this one lasted over 200k
