Hi Ornament Girl... I came across this video and it brought back many fond memories of years ago... when I was first married over 50 years ago, my friends and I would meet at each other's houses and make these ornaments for hours... we use to donate them to charities for fundraising purposes... I'm so glad to see that they are making a comeback... so much fun!.. thanks for the memories...

I am so confused some times the videos say fold top over 1/4" and others say 1/2". How do I decide which measurement to use. I plan on making the basic star ornament from the original 3 part video

I'm so sorry about any confusion! When you are initially folding your fabric piece, you can fold it over anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2" and it will be fine. You are using that fold to create a nice finished edge, so it doesn't need to be exact.
