I’ve just been traveling with some of my young adult relatives, & glad to have mapped out RiteAide/CVS & a decent grocery ahead of time because someone is bound to forget something. I’m grateful I figured out long ago to carry a power extension cord in the bottom of my CPAP case because sometimes there is NO reachable power outlets near the bed. While it’s for the CPAP I’ve used it to bring power to the desk! (I think this is on my mind because this just happened. Also, I bring a collapsible lantern with both USB rechargeable & has a dynamo crank on bottom, so I can turn it on to put on bedside table so if I have to turn off the lamps across the room I can see to get back to bed. I got it for my emergency kit, but liked it so well an extra lives in the side pocket of my suitcase.

Unfortunately, the high possibility of bed bugs in all types of accommodations prohibits me from unpacking. It certain limits feeling at home, but feeling “safe” makes this a reality for me.
@dorothyduvall65033 ай бұрын
Same. It's also more convenient. I see no need to unpack. I don't want others' germs on my things and don't want to clean all the drawers and surfaces thoroughly before using them. It's the same idea as not walking barefoot in the room. Yuck! I do like the ideas such as cozy touches, i.e., book, scarf, candle, etc.. but wouldn't use fragrance even on a cloth as some would still get in the fabrics and carpet. I'm highly reactive to chemicals, and we're not made to breathe oils, perfume, etc. Even all natural fragrances can be allergenic. Bringing/buying healthy foods is a great idea to save money and be healthy. Love your smile! I always notice it.

If you want flowers without the pollen and budget friendly...buy carnations. Were you meeting up with friends? If so, buying groceries can be a great way to save $ or even having wine and a charcuterie board from things you purchase at the local stores or even convivence stores will save you money and time. The same goat cheese in the NYC grocery store was actually $4 cheaper! you have to know where to shop, shop where the locals shop not the tourists. It is So true about the hotel/cruise and Airbnb's about the floors, at least wear socks when walking around or slippers. I have found tennis rackets and golf clubs in my room after I have checked in. If housekeeping didn't catch that, what else did they not pay attention to? Before Covid I always used Clorox wipes to wiped down the toilet seat, the bathroom fixtures, the TV remote, the phone, the ac/heat and blind controls. Have you ever seen a hotel room attendant with a bucket? They don't have them on their carts for a reason, the hotels do not provide them and they expect the room attendant to use the clean water in the toilet to clean the bathroom and the same cloths they used in all the other rooms they cleaned that day. Its not the fault of the cleaners, nor the managers, its the hotel Board of directors. So wipe down everything!
