About 2 months ago, I surgery on the top of my tibia. Before surgery, my anesthesiologist talked to me about getting a nerve blocker after surgery. I was confused why after and not during, but he said they needed to ask me after, and get my consent if i was in too much pain. He said I wouldn't remember it. After surgery, I remember being awake and hearing them ask if I needed it, and I said yes. I was in imense pain. I don't have any recolection of time passing, but I heard them say i'll feel a pinch, and I felt a very very small amount of pressure. I told them I hardly felt it. Almost immediately after that I don't have any memory of. Then I remember waking up and being in agony. It felt like my knee was forced to be hyperextended. This feeling didn't go away till i got a dose of morphine, then I finally went to sleep. It seemed as though the nerve blocker didn't help at all. My skin was completely numb, yet deep inside, it hurt as though my knee was being bent backwards. It felt like it was being crushed on all sides by an anvil. This continued where I would sleep about 23 hours and 40 something minutes a day for the next two days, waking up shortly before I could get my next dose of morphine. Every time I woke up, i would shove as much food in my mouth as I could in about a minute. I only had about 10 seconds to a minute before the pain set back in after waking up. It was easily the most pain i'd ever felt in my life. The third day after surgery was the first day I wanted to be awake, though the pain was still in the 6-7/10 range, even with oxycodone and occasional morphine. By then, the nerve blocker had worn almost completely off, though the skin nerves didn't quite come back for a bit later. To this day, I don't know why the surgery hurt so bad. I haven't spoken with or seen the doctor personally since, though I've spoken with several other doctors and am 2 months into physical therapy. All is going very well. I haven't been in pain at all since the beginning of the second week. More on the injury if anyone read this far. I had a tibial pleateu fracture and also broke the top of my fibula. I was longboarding in a parking lot, and hit the yellow bumps that are supposed to warn you a crosswalk is there or something. I bailed off the board and successfully managed not to fall, but during and right as soon as i caught my balance, I tripped off the curb and my right foot hit the pavement really crooked. All my weight pushed into my knee and the top of my tibia on my left side of my leg cracked and got shoved downward, breaking around an older screw i had installed after breaking the same leg last year. The screw was installed into a tibial rod, and now, that screw had caused the bone to crack around it. The rigth side of the bone got shoved upward. The middle of the bone shattered into tiny pieces and damaged the miniscus. The surgery had 2 plates, one either side of my tibia, and either 12 or 13 screws. I can't quite count them all.

@Humbaba_ Good luck! A good doctor can do great things so you probably won't need any luck👍 Also, glad my comment helped!
