Thinking De Gea, easily the best goalkeeper in the league, is a problem for United shows you that being good at football isn't quite the same as being able to analyse it. Roy is a lazy pundit sometimes. Jill is obviously a City fan but was really about to make a v good point about United dominating the ball and being very in control in the most recent fixture vs Forest and the performance against Chelsea which was an open game but still got the job done. Roy's ignored that and defaulted to just the easy games to pick on United for (ie the 3 or 4 worst United performances of the season). Those games get talked about to death in the immediate aftermath so we don't need that analysis, but actually the far more interesting question is Jill's to unpick the subtleties of why United can't play a consistent style of football either possession based or counter-attack.

ETH getting Fred to shadow De Bruyne worked at Old Trafford. It nullified City a fair bit. Fred also just created two goals in the match against Fulham. Fred is our secret weapon - lol 🤣 Wan Bissaka is who I prefer at RB. Very few left wingers and full backs can get past him. He pockets players doing the spider thing. That's another area of the pitch made a bit safer, especially if Sancho helps him out like he should. Varane and Victor is a decent CB pairing. Double V for victory. Weghorst will provide some muscle and height to help deal with Haaland. He can't seem to score, but he is handy at hold up play and is decent on the ball under pressure. If De Gea is not away with the fairies, he might make some decent saves to keep us in it. Bruno can come up with a magic pass. Casemiro and Erikson can too. Rashford will hopefully be in the mood to receive them and bust the net a few times. I would not be surprised if McTominay comes on and scores. He seems to like the big occasion and scoring at national stadiums. Maybe this comment will age well. Maybe not. We'll see. P.S. In 1979 when I was a kid, my Arsenal supporting stepfather from Tooting sat me down to watch the FA Cup final. MUFC lost, but I liked the noise the MUFC supporters were making and became one. The step dad probably hoped I would become a Gooner. Yuck, imagine that. Bottle Job FC. He stopped trying to get me interested in football after that. Then in Milton Keynes where most kids supported Liverpool, I got banned from having anything to do with football. I'd listen to matches on the quiet using my little radio, or sneak off on my BMX with my boots and kit hidden in a bag.

U are on point about the players gameplan I would just not add weghorst even though u are right he can deal with haaland but he's slow. I would give that role to casemiro x varane together.
