What I found interesting is that Gary seemed to be trying to get him to commit to sorting out multi-club ownership and do so in a way that prevents owners having multiple clubs but actually, Ceferin seemed to be taking the view that any rule changes were probably going to be in favour of multi-club-ownership rather than against it.

And he was full of bullshit during that segment. Ofcourse UEFA holds all the cards. He even said around the 40 minute mark that national competitions are where clubs and the UEFA get their most money out of and that is why the UEFA threatened immediately to ban the "SL-clubs" from their respective national competitions and then the smaller teams would get paid more that's why small teams were relying on their fans to riot as much as possible. If I would've been one the owner of those 12 SL-teams I would have called his bluff and let people watch Champions League finals like Cadiz - Toulouse. The interest of the people would wane very quickly, I'm sure. 📃

Ceferin just announced that UEFA is considering allowing clubs with the same owners to participate in the Champions League. So you could have Manchester City + all of the satellite clubs bought by City Football Group, or Manchester United + PSG if Qatar takes over the former. But then he has the cheek to talk about "sharks", even though he is just another one of them alongside Infantino and the Super League promoters.

I think it's pretty clear at this point, Ceferin has failed in his lack of foresight to anticipate the multi-club ownership problem. Reports indicate UEFA are going to allow multi-club ownership, no doubt that Ceferins' colleague Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been influential in this matter. Whether or not Nice are going to compete in the Champions League anytime soon is unclear, but Jim Ratcliffe has also in all likelihood moved to influence UEFA on this matter. I think the only way you can discourage multiple clubs being owned by the same organisation/figurehead going forward, is a progressive fine system. Say for example PSG/Nice face Man Utd in the Champions League/Europa League in 1 season, both clubs pay a fine. If they face each other in another season in European competition, the fine increases by 20-30%. All football clubs should have their own independent agenda. Because this goes back to how football is defined by most people. It's not a billionaires' game, it's not a consortiums' game, it's not a private families' game. It's THE PEOPLE'S GAME.

The fact the issues around the champions league final are still being talked about and the Europa league final is not says it all really. The big guys pretending they care about fans - they only care when it’s their prize game. The Europa league final was one of the worst things I’ve ever witnessed. 36 degree heat for hours on end, made to stand in heat for hours before game with no communication, barely any water inside the stadium and no care for people’s welfare. The stadium itself was dangerous. I have been to illegal raves off my face on drugs and felt safer than I did there. But it doesn’t get a mention because we are not Liverpool. Shameful.

Football integrity is driven down the pecking order every time a new billionaire, who has no interest in football, buys a club. Venture capitalists very rarely have the true worth of the club at their hearts. It's about the football community, the fair priced tickets for fans, improving the area around the stadiums, and often those things are overlooked.

Everybody has some much to say about Manchester City and their owners but if you look at how the east side of Manchester has been completely redeveloped, it’s night and day. The tickets aren’t ridiculously expensive when in comparison to other clubs and how much they’ve spent too. And they’ve even invested a significant amount in the women’s game and youth setups too. Overall it’s a well run club but unfortunately people don’t like to hear that because they’ve upset the applecart.
