Tropical storms are a way of life in Florida. We get some nasty thunder storms too. I'm surprised there weren't more surfers out. Looks like the ARB held up really good. Sorry Sally put a damper on your vacation but you weathered it like a pro :) All is well that ends well. Thank you for sharing! Stay safe.C U Wed :)

Thanks for the reality check. Even though I live on the east coast of Florida and have gone through many tropical storms and hurricanes in my life, I’m done with them now. I’m getting myself a Runaway shortly and will commence my travels with my little dog. Peace with y’all.

I LOVE your little Runaway camper! We're all about keeping the camper small. The tent attachment you have is amazing. We need to get one of those! I love how it adds extra space. So funny they're grilling during a tropical storm. That would have scared me that the ocean got that close to the park. I would have to agree with Nancy and stayed in the camper LOL. It's really too bad the zippers leaked. But least it stayed together. That says a lot. Thanks for sharing.

I love your attitude! But being an old Floridian, I would have packed everything up and be ready to evacuate. We have had 50mph inland winds here in North Florida in April. It blew me against my van and slammed the door against my hand. Man oh man ! You two were something else. 😅😁 Blessings from Meema and Jessi Beagle. Hoping to settle in with a Runaway Camper later this year.

WOW... This is an EXCELLENT VIDEO... Okay... I seriously need to know if you REALLY like this ARB... I am 68 getting ready to move back to Albuquerque, New Mexico (US) ... I am going to be in my Vintage 1972 Travel Trailer (17' long)... and NEED an Extra room on it desperately. But I want a really good extra room. It has been a long time since I was a "CAMPER"... can you give me tips and tricks for my journey. Thank you both for such a great video... Happy New Year. (Dec. 31 2022)

Quite the experience and it all held up pretty well. Just wondering to myself that if you waxed the zippers if that wouldn't help hold out some if not most of the moisture. Not really a suggestion, just a thought. Thanks for sharing.

I just found this video, very informative as all of your videos are. What/how did you make the wind block that you attached under the camper? I never would have thought of that until I saw this video. My Ranger Runner will be ready for pick up in mid-March '22, can't wait to receive it.

any idea on the wind speed? mph? i am considering one but it will be out in some wind
@Hanginwithherky4 жыл бұрын
It was in the 40s the hurricane was actually off shore. I would not recommend keeping it up in wind like this but we survived just fine. You have to anchor them down good if you have any wind.

@@Hanginwithherky i has een other vids where the poles extending out from the camper have bent in wind, did yours bend? iam not sure if i want to go with a roof top tent on my teardrop. but they hold up well in high winds,

Couldn’t y’all just have left, gone back north? Id be terribly scared of having to endure a tropical storm in any camper!
@Hanginwithherky4 жыл бұрын
The storm was heading north. We actually made the best decision by just riding it out. If I had it to do all over again we would have rolled up the awning but it was to late by the time we realized it.
@leslieladyhawke4 жыл бұрын
Hangin with Herky Oh I see! So glad y’all were ok though! The awning company ought to give you a sponsorship! Haha
@yrusam24 жыл бұрын
Can tell you don’t live in hurricane territory. People die in storms by trees falling on them even in vehicles. Or flying debris. Not to mention flying awnings. Tent probably wasn’t wisest choice. Viewers don’t do this. Impressed with awning though.
