Glad to see people excited to play an arena shooter again. Full circle, TF began AS a Quake mod and now TF2 HAS a Quake mod. I also hope people who play this give Quake Champions and Unreal Tournament 4 a try too. We need an Arena Shooter comeback it's time to go fast again!

@@Deepstate-d1w It's imperfect sure but it's better than another "muh takticool" shooter or BR. Also it's not full of cheats. You just don't fully understand how high the skill ceiling is. There are some, but it's not that common and easy to spot for anyone that's been at it awhile. It does have shitty netcode (compared to QL, still better than many other games, like COD or R6) and runs on a bastardized engine, but it's fun to play and easier to get into than QL for a noob.

@@eclipsegst9419 Quake Champions is shit, you don't need a longer way to say it. It was designed first and foremost as a duel-based experience to follow suit with its eSports, but Quake 3 and QuakeLive were alive as long as they were for their variety of modes. Ultimately, the heroes and their unique abilities didn't favour those modes. Shit like blocking pathways with acid puddles and having more or less speed, more or less health, depending on the hero, were things very few were receptive of. It just chalked up to inconsistency in a franchise that was purely about static numbers damage, good aim and resource management. Let's see where Open Fortress goes. There's a very good shot it'll do Quake/UT better than QC or UT "5" did.

Everybody says that's pointless but, every other AFPS fails for not being as good as Q3 so... Either way QC is still better than CSGO, R6, CoD, all these other lame games normies play

@@Deepstate-d1w the abilities are not that horribly unbalanced, the difference comes mainly from movement which is the whole point of quake, you have CPMA/classic and quake 4 movement in a single game, and there is modes where you only have the q3 movement with no abilities too, I think is a game that deserves some love, but a q3/quake live remaster should occur regardless

ngl, I kinda want to have this character in the tf2 like, he's just called mercenary or something and he can use the weapons of any class (on their proper slots of course) with the base of 150 health, sure it would be kinda of hard to have voice lines for him, but I think he would at least be kinda of cool to have in case you want a character with a middle ground of skill cealing sure I know that this would probably never work or even make a difference, but at least it would be kinda fun

He could just be a silent mercenary, with no special abilities (except bhopping because its fun) Capable of using any weapon from all mercenaries and being the overall middle ground like you said. [obviously this wouldnt really make much of a difference but it would be fun]

@@Russatonic indeed, it could add to some kinda of mystery of him, like how does he look like? does he actually speak? was he trained to know how to use every gun? the world may never know and to be honest, he could be a pretty good class if everyone in a team uses him, since he can have almost any weapon, means he can ''act'' like a class, without having the drawbacks of it now of course this would need some rebalance on his damage and stuff cause...imagine a character with the same health as soldier, but no slow speed, can bunnyhop AND use more than the rocket launcher, oohh boy...a bit busted but besides that, I think he would be a pretty fun class

He'd be like a silent protagonist, communicating through his emotions (maybe even sign language?) and his default loadout could be an M4A1 (combining the speed and damage of Sniper's uzi with the accuracy and hitscan of a Sniper Rifle), a special "Backup Plan" Pistol that has a higher accuracy, deals a +25 bonus damage against enemies that are being shot or when you get a headshot, and a crowbar that's pretty much the same as the shovel except for it becoming stronger the more injured you are! Actually, the last one may need a damage penalty and no random crits lol

This game is just spawning, losing invincibility and getting ganked by a bhopper with a shotgun or a rocket launcher. Sometimes you get spawned close to a normal person and an actually fair fight happens until both of you get ganked by bhoppers 5 seconds later.
